.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight... Showers are expected to diminish
through the morning across the eastern plains, with increased
moisture expected to keep relative humidity values well above
critical thresholds today and tonight. Today will also mark the
beginning of a warming trend over the next few days, as upper-
level ridging rebuilds behind an exiting low. We should see a few
hours of patchy Fair to Good smoke dispersal this afternoon for
the lower elevations. Excellent overnight recoveries are expected
across the forecast area tonight.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Friday through Monday... Warm and dry
conditions are expected through the long term period, with well-
above-normal temperatures expected Saturday and Monday. A cold
front is expected to arrive Saturday afternoon that may bring some
elevated to critical fire weather conditions to Weld County, where
relative humidity values will hover at or just below critical
thresholds. Depending on the timing of the front, we could see a
few hours where the marginal RH coincides with 25 to 35 mph winds.
At this time, it`s looking like the timing of the overlapping of
winds and low RH will not meet the three hour time requirement for
any fire weather highlights, but will have to watch the timing of
the front as it gets closer. Smoke dispersal looks to improve to
Fair to Very Good conditions each afternoon outside of the urban
corridor, where Poor conditions are expected through the period.
