.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...
Hot weather can be expected today. Monsoonal moisture resides
across the forecast area, so scattered to numerous thunderstorms
can be expected over the mountains this afternoon and early
evening, with coverage gradually decreasing to the east into a
more hostile environment. Southeast breezes will bring elevated
fire weather conditons to the plains, but humidity levels will
stay above critical thresholds. Despite unseasonably warm
temperatures tonight, moderate to good humidity recovery is
expected in all areas.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday through Wednesday...
Similar weather conditions are expected to persist into Sunday
with hot weather and scattered afternoon/early evening
thunderstorms in and near the mountains. Moisture levels increase
Monday through Wednesday for higher shower and storm coverage.
Temperatures will cool a few degrees but still average a few
degrees above normal. No critical fire weather conditions are
expected.
