.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...
Summer-like heat will return today, with humidity levels dropping
from yesterday. The lowest humidity readings will be along the
I-25 Corridor, with minimums dropping to 15-20%. The breeziest
areas (eastern plains and northern mountains) will see gusts
around 25 mph, but humidity readings will stay well above critical
thresholds and closer to 25-35% in those areas. Isolated to
scattered late afternoon and evening showers and a couple storms
will produce brief but gusty outflow winds to 40-50 mph.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday through Thursday...
Moisture will increase this week, with scattered shower and storm
coverage most days. The most widespread coverage and potential
for wetting rains is now expected to be delayed until Wednesday or
more likely Thursday. A cold front Monday night will usher in
cooler temperatures and higher humidity readings for Tuesday,
with the largest change east of the Front Range. No critical fire
weather conditions are anticipated.
