.DISCUSSION...Today through Thursday...
Warm and dry conditions are expected for the next few days, with
only isolated shower chances for some of the higher elevations.
Temperatures are expected to warm to near record/record highs
across the plains. The above normal temperatures and dry
conditions will allow for relative humidities to drop into the low
teens across portions of the plains and urban corridor on Monday
and Tuesday. Winds are expected to remain below critical
thresholds both days, but there could be some localized elevated
fire weather conditions along the Wyoming border on Monday where
winds could gust between 20-25 mph. A little increase in moisture
is expected on Tuesday as an upper-level disturbance moves across
the state. Scattered showers/storms will be possible in the
afternoon for portions of the higher elevations, but chances for
any wetting rains remain very low (<5%) outside of a 15-20% chance
mainly for Park County. Smoke dispersal conditions will be Fair or
better across the forecast area each afternoon, with the exception
of Poor conditions expected this afternoon for the urban corridor
and foothills north of Douglas County.
