.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...A drier and warmer airmass
will move into the forecast area today. Minimum afternoon
humidity levels will drop into the upper teens over some of
plains this afternoon. Winds will be fairly weak. Critical
fire weather conditions are not expected.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday through Wednesday...High pressure
aloft will bring very warm to hot temperatures through the middle
of next week. Relative humidities bottom out in the lower to mid
teens across the plains and in the upper teens to mid 20s across
the higher terrain. Winds will be light most of the time under the
high. Enough moisture ends up trapped under the high for daily
afternoon showers and thunderstorms, mainly occurring over the
higher terrain. Brief light to moderate rain and gusty winds are
expected with the showers and storms.
