.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Although there should be
more clouds and convection this afternoon compared to yesterday,
it will still be quite hot with little to no rainfall expected.
Afternoon humidity levels will drop into the 12-20% range over
the plains this afternoon. Winds will be fairly light through the
day however the high based convection will produce strong gusty
outflow winds this afternoon and early evening. Critical fire
weather conditions are not expected.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday through Friday...Very warm to hot
conditions will continue Tuesday with highs in the mid to upper
90s across northeast Colorado. Another round of high- based gusty
showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday afternoon, though
coverage is expected to be a little less than today. Slight relief
from the heat is expected Wednesday and Thursday as moisture
increases. This will result in greater coverage of showers and
thunderstorms. Some of the storms will produce heavy rainfall.
Cooling trend continues into Friday and Saturday with highs over
northeast Colorado bottoming out in the mid 80s Saturday.
