.DISCUSSION...Rest of today through Wednesday...
Unseasonably dry and warm weather will prevail through the entire
period with a flat ridge of high pressure dominating our weather.
With the upper level ridge in place, winds will generally be light
in and near the mountains, but occasional breezy weather will
occur over the plains east of I-25. For Saturday, that spells
elevated fire weather conditions as humidity levels drop to 15-18%
and north winds behind a weak front gust to 25 mph. Mountain and
foothill areas will see slightly higher humidity levels and fairly
normal diurnal wind patterns.
A bump in humidity readings is expected Sunday across the plains,
but lower humidity will once again spread across the entire area
on Monday as record/near record warmth is expected. Fortunately,
winds are forecast to stay on the lighter side and under criteria.
A weak weather disturbance will move across the state Tuesday
with isolated to scattered light showers, mainly in and near the
mountains. Then dry weather will move back in by Wednesday.
Good to very good smoke dispersal can be expected in most areas
each afternoon, with the exception of Sunday when only poor to
fair dispersal is forecast for the I-25 Corridor and lower
foothills.
