.DISCUSSION...Today through Wednesday...
A cool and dry front is expected to bring breezy conditions to the
northern plains today, where afternoon RH values are expected to
drop into the mid teens. This will bring some elevated fire
weather conditions to the northern plains where north to northeasterly
gusts around 25 mph are expected behind the front. Dry conditions
are expected through the forecast period outside of Tuesday when a
weak disturbance is still expected to move across the state,
bringing isolated to scattered light showers, mainly in and near
the mountains. With well-above-normal temperatures expected
Monday, RH values are expected to drop into the low to mid teens
across the plains in the afternoon and again on Tuesday, before a
slight improvement is expected for Wednesday. Winds are expected
to remain under critical thresholds where the lowest RH values are
expected through the period.
Good to very good smoke dispersal can be expected in most areas
each afternoon, with the exception of Sunday when only poor to
fair dispersal is forecast for the I-25 Corridor and lower
foothills.
