.DISCUSSION...Rest of today through Saturday...
Elevated fire weather conditons are in place this afternoon in
the northern mountains, high valleys, and near the Wyoming border
where breezy winds gust to 20-30 mph. Humidity values will drop
into the upper teens in the breeziest locations, while lowering to
15% or less over most of the plains and lower foothills.
Temperatures will be a couple degrees warmer than yesterday, and
isolated late afternoon showers or weak storms will produce gusty
outflow winds. Temperatures will be cooler on Saturday behind a
cold front in the early morning. Moisture will increase enough to
keep relative humidity values above 20% across the higher
elevations and 25% or greater across the plains.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday night through Wednesday...
Sunday will be very warm in most areas again, with a drop in
humidity levels, however, RH should stay above critical thresholds
across the forecast area. The breeziest areas on Sunday should
see higher RH, so no critical fire conditions are anticipated.
Moisture will increase early next week with increasing chances of
showers and storms. Another cold front will bring cooler weather
and higher humidities by Tuesday.
