.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Today will be another warm day
with a slight increase in moisture behind a weak frontal push
across the plains. Minimum relative humidity will be in the 13 to
25 percent range, with the lowest humidity in the mountains and
gradual increase across the eastern plains. Winds will be light
with no critical fire weather conditions.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday through Tuesday...
Saturday through the following Thursday, with the exception of
Monday, will see an early season heat wave with record highs
possible nearly every day. Relative humidity will reach the 7-12%
range across the lower foothills and plains each day except for
Monday. Winds will gust up to 30 mph across most of the plains
Saturday, and the eastern plains for Sunday. More widespread gusty
winds can be expected Tuesday and Wednesday, including the
mountains and foothills.
The only thing that will keep us from issuing a Red Flag Warning
for all of those days is fuel conditions. Based on the latest
updates from our partners, fuel conditions are seen green and not
critical. However, those conditions may change as we head through
this period of record/near record heat and dry conditions. There
may even be extremely critical fire weather conditions Tuesday -
Wednesday due to strong winds and low relative humidity if fuels
become critical.
