.DISCUSSION... The only observations we have in the area of
Cheesman are the Cheesman RAWS which resides on the east side of
the reservoir. Currently, winds are from the SSE at about 5 mph
with gusts to 15 mph. Relative humidity is sitting at 79% and
temperatures are in the mid 60s. Winds should gradually turn to
the S to SW over the next hour or two as downslope/downvalley
winds settle in. Expecting speeds to remain light (under 12 mph)
through the overnight hours, and maintain a S to SW component.
There may be a few hours of light and variable winds between
0800-1000 before we expect a clockwise transition to the north
through the morning and NE for the afternoon. Wind speeds are
expected to start to increase around 2 PM, with gusts between
15-20 mph possible. Afternoon showers and storms will be possible
again Thursday afternoon though the majority of activity is
expected just to the south over the Palmer Divide and eastward.
Any passing showers or storms may produce sudden wind shifts with
gusty outflows. There is a 15 to 25% chance for wetting rains
through the evening, with minimum RH values expected to drop to
between 25-30%.
