.DISCUSSION... Current observations show gusty northerly winds
between 20-25 mph in place behind a recently passing boundary.
This has cooled temperatures slightly, with current temps in the
area in the mid 90s. Winds are expected to maintain a NW component for
the next few hours, with winds decreasing in magnitude before
westerly downslope winds settle in for the overnight by 2400-0100.
For the near term, there are some showers developing over the
Palmer Divide that will keep about a 20-30% chance for
thunderstorms to get close to your location for the next few
hours. Outside of any passing shower/storms, westerly gusts to 20
mph will be possible between 0100-0300. Could see some overnight
showers develop, with the best timing between 2200-2400, with very
low chances for lightning. Depending where the showers develop,
there could be some gusty outflows in that time period that could
lead to sudden changes in wind speed and direction. If they
develop over your location, expect winds to be variable in
direction, but if they develop near the location, they would
likely come from the direction where they are relative to the
fire, with wind speeds potentially reaching 25 to 35 mph.
Expecting RH values to recover around 50%, with potential for
higher RH if a shower moves over.
Another hot day is expected on Monday, with afternoon temperatures
expected to climb into the 90s once again. Winds are expected to
be light in the morning with a north to northeast transition
through the morning. Shower and storm chances look slightly better
than today, with increasing chances beginning around 1200, with
likely chances by 1500-1600. These storms will have potential for
some heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty outflow winds between
30-40mph. Min RH is forecast to be around 25-35%.
