.DISCUSSION... Today will be warm and dry with relative humidity
dropping to 13 percent. Light winds in the morning will increase
out of the south in the afternoon with gusts up to 30 mph
possible. There will be excellent smoke dispersal. The tricky
part of the forecast will be forecasting wind direction in the
late afternoon. There will be a boundary that will setup very
close to the spot location. If the boundary stays to the south,
gusty northeast winds will move over the spot location. If the
boundary sets up on the north side, south winds will continue into
the early evening. The most likely scenario is southerly winds
this afternoon but be prepared for a possible shift to northeast
winds.
This evening, a strong cold front will move across Denver with
northerly winds gusting up to 45 mph for a short time. The north
winds will continue through the night and towards sunrise on
Friday, snow will begin to form. This snow will be moderate in
intensity and 1-3" of snow accumulation is expected. Snow will end
in the afternoon but with gusty northerly winds continuing, good
smoke dispersal is forecast.
