.DISCUSSION...The increase in westerly winds early this morning
has been enough to mix out the shallow moisture layer. While it`s
possible that we could briefly decouple again, it is more likely
that the location will remain in the upper 30s to low 40s through
the rest of the early AM hours. Winds should remain out of the
west through most of the day today, with gradually weakening
speeds during the afternoon. There is a chance (25%) of a brief
wind shift to the southeast this morning, but there is a much
better signal for winds to remain out of the west compared to
yesterday. Smoke dispersal should be fair to very good during the
day. Temperatures and RH should be similar to yesterday.
Light and variable winds are expected tonight with temperatures
falling below freezing and relative humidity increasing to 65-75%.
Winds should remain light and eventually turn to the east tomorrow
afternoon as a storm system approaches. Chances for rain and snow
showers will gradually increase towards Thursday evening, with
snow likely overnight. Precipitation is expected to be light, with
only a 40-50 percent chance of >0.10" of liquid equivalent by
Friday morning.
