Most of the thunderstorms were pushing to the south and east, and
the threat of any severe storms is going rapidly with it. However,
there may still be a few showers or even an isolated storm around
this morning. Areas of stratus with MVFR/IFR ceilings are expected
to gradually lift through 18Z. That`s when things for storms get
interesting again. A shortwave will move across the area, likely
sparking another round of storms. Those could start as early as
19Z and then organize into a linear storm complex which would
potentially produce high winds and less extensive large hail as
they move east across the I-25 Corridor. We have beefed up the
winds for now to ~G40kts for a most likely scenario in a TEMPO
group, but a 10-20% of reaching severe thresholds (50 kts) at
KDEN. We think the main threat of storms would be pushing east of
the TAF sites by 22-23Z, but still a chance of a lingering
shower/isolated storm til 02Z Wednesday. Then gradual clearing and
lighter drainage winds developing beyond 02Z.

KCOS and KPUB: VFR conditions are expected over the next 24 hours.
Brief periods of MVFR to IFR conditions will be possible at both TAF
sites due to thunderstorms as they impact the terminals, especially
for KCOS. In addition to that, some thunderstorms may become strong
to severe early this afternoon, with the greatest hazards being
strong outflow winds up to 70 mph and large hail to around 3 inches
possible. After the afternoon thunderstorms, dry conditions are
expected through tomorrow morning, with light and variable winds.
KALS: VFR conditions are expected over the next 24 hours. Winds will
increase through the afternoon as deep diurnal mixing become
established. Winds will steadily lessen heading into the evening
hours, with light and variable winds then prevailing into tomorrow
morning. Otherwise, dry conditions with periods of mid to high level
clouds are expected.

VFR conditions are expected at terminals through the period. Weather
concerns today are mainly limited to terminals east of the
Continental Divide as another round of afternoon convection kicks
up. Chances are most favorable at KCOD where confidence is high
enough for TEMPO impacts. Elsewhere east of the Divide, PROB30
groups have been retained given lower confidence on direct terminal
impacts. Gusty outflow winds will be the primary concern with storms
as they move from northwest to southeast across the area. Otherwise,
a breezy afternoon is expected west of the Divide. Convection will
end and wind will decrease quickly after sunset. There will be a
brief period for a potential lower cloud deck at KCPR around this
time as northeasterly winds set in. Westerly wind will return there
by 06Z, with mostly clear skies then expected everywhere
through Wednesday morning.

Showers are popping up across the terminals with thunderstorms
near KLAR. These thunderstorms are expected to last until 01z
for the Wyoming terminals and 04z for the Nebraska Terminals.
Clouds ceilings are expected to almost clear after the
thunderstorms have passed. Wednesday morning should be clear and
with no thunderstorms expected tomorrow. Conditions should
remain VFR all day tomorrow after 12z.

At GLD, the primary concern will be the potential for redeveloping
thunderstorm activity capable of producing periods of IFR visibilities
and lower ceilings to around 2000 feet.  Gusty winds over 40 knots
could also be a concern as the storms move through.  The primary
threat for thunderstorm activity at GLD will be between 23z and 02z
once temperatures rise enough to support additional convective
development.  By 03z, the convective threat should be over and a
much drier and more stable airmass will begin to move into the area.
This will result in prevailing VFR conditions from 03z through the
end of the TAF period.
At MCK, the convective threat is substantially lower this afternoon
into this evening due to the very stable rain-cooled airmass in place.
Full recovery is not expected this afternoon, so there is no mention
of thunderstorms in the forecast.  At most, some passing light rain
showers could push visibility down to MVFR range for a few hours
between 01z and 06z. Light boundary layer flow around daybreak
tomorrow will combine with higher soil moisture content to support
some patchy fog development between 10z and 14z.

Low to mid level clouds continue across southwest Kansas after
an outflow boundary earlier this morning passed through central
Kansas. MVFR flight category for LBL, GCK, and DDC are expected
through 21Z.
For HYS...a second outflow boundary is moving through central
Kansas and could lead to VCTS between 18-21Z.
For DDC...as the outflow boundary moves south and east we could
see VCTS near the terminal between 21Z-03Z. The better
confidence of storms will be south and east of DDC.
Post storm clouds should continue through at least 03Z which
could lead to MVFR flight category for all terminals and then
after 03Z we should see VFR flight category for the rest of the
time period.

period. The one caveat will be the potential for thunderstorms,
mainly for KGUY after 00Z Wed. Confidence is low enough at this

added in subsequent TAF issuances if confidence increases.
Southerly winds will shift to the north for KDHT and KGUY ahead of
a push of cooler air behind a cold front. Northerly winds for the
entire combined OK/TX Panhandle are expected after 00Z Wed.

Breezy to gusty west winds prevail across the region today, except
across the northeast where winds have already turned northerly
with the passage of a backdoor front. This front will stall this
afternoon, eventually surging south and westward after 00Z. This
will create gusty west north to northeast winds at eastern sites
and a low-end gap wind that will affect KABQ. Due to the lack of
convection to aid its progress, there is only a very low chance
(<10%) that an AWW will be needed. There is also a low chance of
IFR cigs developing in the eastern plains and highlands adjacent
to the central mountain chain, but very few models are showing
much of anything developing so no low cigs were added to any
TAFs.
