.AVIATION /18Z TAFS through 18Z Monday/...
Issued at 1041 AM MST Sun Nov 30 2025
Clouds have thickened ahead of schedule this morning, with even a
few snowflakes already observed at KDEN over the past hour or so.
Light winds remain in place across the TAF sites and are still on
track to see a transition to the southeast this afternoon as a
surface cyclone becomes more pronounced. Current SSW winds at KDEN
may become more variable before the SE winds prevail between
18-20Z. The same is expected at KAPA. Winds at KBJC are expected
to see a N to NW transition through the afternoon.
A few changes were made to the TAFs this morning as guidance
suggests slightly lower visiblities dropping to as low as 1SM
early this evening, when snow moves from west to east across the
TAF sites, beginning first at KBJC between 22-23Z, followed by
KDEN and KAPA shortly thereafter. Generally light snow
accumulations are expected across the TAF sites, though the
ingredients will be in place to see potential for snow band
development between the 0-6Z time frame that could bring some
localized heavier amounts (up to 2 inches; KAPA:20-25%, KBJC:20%,
KDEN:15% chance).
While some slight clearing is currently occurring with regards to
ceilings, these should gradually begin lowering again around 20Z,
with MVFR conditions expected through the overnight hours, with
some brief periods of IFR conditions possible. Should see clearing
conditions early Monday morning (13-15Z) when winds turn towards
the WSW. Expecting another gradual shift towards the N to NNE for
KDEN/KAPA through the afternoon, with KBJC holding onto WSW winds
through the day.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 1043 AM MST Sun Nov 30 2025
KALS: Gusty west winds and increasing clouds will move in this
afternoon, lowering cigs to MVFR through tonight and into early
Monday. Snow showers will move off of the higher terrain, starting
around 02Z, with potential impacts to the terminal between 05-09Z in
the form of lower clouds and light snow with limited visibility. VFR
conditions will return later Monday morning, near the end of this
forecast period.
KCOS and KPUB: MVFR conditions will mostly persist through the next
24 hours, due to increasing cloud cover. Later this evening, by
about 03Z or so, an incoming system will spread snow across the
higher terrain to the west. While VCSH will be present at both
terminals, there is also a low-end chance for isolated bands of snow
to move out over the I-25 corridor. If snowfall does move to the
terminals, it will result in brief periods of lowered visibility and
snow showers. Have included PROB30 groups to account for this
possibility. Outside of that, lingering nearby showers and some
lower clouds will last into early Monday morning, before VFR
conditions are expected to return.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 1022 AM MST Sun Nov 30 2025
A cold front and upper level trough will move over the area
today bringing low ceilings and visibilities due to rain and
snowfall. ILS breakpoints will be met for most terminals across
the area especially later on this afternoon and evening as the
front moves through. Under heavier snow and rain showers, both
ceilings and vis will drop between IFR and MVFR, possibly VLIFR
at times under the heavier showers. NW Colorado and NE Utah
will see conditions improving later tonight and this will
continue to the southeast towards Monday morning. Mountains can
anticipate clouds, ceilings, and precip through Monday morning.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z MONDAY/...
Mountains can
anticipate clouds, ceilings, and precip through Monday morning.

.AVIATION...KSLC...Generally light northerly winds prevail this
morning, though there is a 20% chance for winds to switch back
southeasterly if drainage winds can overcome northerly flow.
Southerly winds develop briefly mid-to-late morning ahead of a cold
front passage that will brings a return of northerly winds through
the afternoon. Deteriorating conditions are expected to accompany
this frontal passage, with decreasing CIGS/VIS to MVFR as wintry
precipitation move into the area. Expect gradual improvement in
conditions this afternoon and evening.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...A winter storm moving in from
the north this morning will bring widespread wintry precipitation,
resulting in MVFR/periods of IFR CIGS/VIS late this morning into the
afternoon for northern Utah terminals. Across the southern portion
of the airspace, precipitation will bring terrain obscuration.
Conditions are expected to gradually improve this afternoon and
evening as precipitation tapers. Winds remain generally light this
morning, with northerly winds prevailing behind the associated
frontal passage areawide this afternoon.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 1011 AM MST Sun Nov 30 2025
.West of the Continental Divide (KBPI/KJAC/KPNA/KRKS)...
Todays` winter system is a little farther south than forecast,
so have made some adjustments to snow forecast today. Have
removed predominant snow for KBPI/KPNA for this afternoon, with
only a TEMPO group remaining. For KJAC, snow should be complete
other than a brief round of flurries in the next hour, so have
removed PROB30 grouping. Snow still on track for KRKS, but have
decreased intensity slightly, with only brief TEMPO for MVFR
conditions.
.East of the Continental Divide (KCOD/KCPR/KLND/KRIW/KWRL)...
With the latest weather system staying to the south today, snow
impacts will be minimal. KCPR may see light snow during the
next couple hours before ending. Remaining sites hold mid level
cloud cover through the rest of the afternoon before clearing
overnight. Conditions are favorable for some fog on Boysen
Reservoir tonight, which may briefly drift toward KRIW around
12Z. Chances remain low, so nothing in TAF for now.
Please see the Aviation Weather Center and/or CWSU ZLC and ZDV
for the latest information on icing, turbulence, and smoke
forecasts.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 1053 AM MST Sun Nov 30 2025
A mix of all flight categories expected as a system brings
widespread snow showers to the region today through tonight. All
sites are expected to have nearby snow showers if not moving
directly over, though airports that are most likely to see
precipitation are all WY terminals as well as KSNY. These snow
showers could cause VIS and/or CIGs to drop to IFR or even LIFR
status at times. Winds will also be breezy as this activity
moves through, with speeds 10-25 knots expected. As we move into
this evening and overnight into tomorrow, winds should lessen
and precipitation should exit the region, with skies lifting and
clearing as well. Winds will begin to pick back up tomorrow into
the afternoon.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z MONDAY/...
Issued at 1118 AM CST Sun Nov 30 2025
A storm system will move into western Kansas during the
overnight through the mid morning hours and will likely produce
pockets of light to moderate snow around DDC and HYS between
12-18Z. Surface vis may fall to as low as 1 SM at HYS with
flight categories dropping to IFR between 12-18Z. Elsewhere GCK
and DDC are expected to have flight categories drop to MVFR with
the light snow and we could see surface vis drop to 2-4 SM at
times between 12-15Z with the snow. LBL should see little to no
snow and as such expect VFR category for the entire period.

(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1250 PM MST Sun Nov 30 2025
IFR/MVFR ceilings are clearing along the highlands of the central
mountain chain this hour, still loitering near KLVS however.
Surface winds will steady veer southerly at most locations this
afternoon ahead of the next winter system clipping northern NM
tonight. Winds will turn westerly to northwesterly with the
Pacific cold front tonight. IFR/MVFR conditions associated with
lowering ceilings and snow will be relegated to the northern
mountain areas. KFMN has the best chance of TAF terminals of
seeing a short period of reduced visibilities <2SM from snow. The
band of snow steadily loses its cohesion by the time it reaches
KSAF and KABQ as snow becomes mostly terrain driven along
southwest facing slopes of the Sangre de Cristo and Tusas Mts
early Monday morning. VFR will prevail for all areas along and
east of the central mountain chain and all areas along and south
of I-40 except perhaps KGUP and KGNT. Conditions steadily clear
out thru Monday morning.
