As of 1745z, cumulus clouds are starting to build in the
mountains and the foothills to the west of the three sites with a
scattered deck pushing into KBJC. There is still a cap in place as
seen on ACARS soundings and radar is just starting to show some
returns in Park County. Given the fog that was in place this
morning as well as the cap still in place, we have held off on the
PROB30 from starting until 22z at KDEN and then lasting until
about 3z. Gusty winds, lowering ceilings, and heavy rainfall
(briefly limiting visibility) are possible from any storm that
passes near or directly over the TAF sites. Some CAMs are showing
showers and thunderstorms lingering a bit after 3z, but confidence
is low in this scenario at this time.
There is also some uncertainty on the winds tonight. For now, we
have gone ahead with an E to SE wind this evening before winds
turn to drainage by about 7z. Several CAMs depict outflow
boundaries from storms to the east moving through the metro early
this evening potentially affecting KAPA and KDEN. If this were to
occur, winds could shift more to an east or northeast direction
and briefly gust to around 20 kts.
For tomorrow, winds will start to turn clockwise before settling
on a northeast direction early in the afternoon. Model soundings
show DCAPE values reaching up to 1,500 J/kg and some mid-level
moisture lingering. So, we expect the possibility of virga showers
and dry microbursts starting around 21z and lasting through the
early evening (potentially a bit after the TAF period). These
could bring gusty winds and ceilings lowering to about 12,000 ft
AGL with little to no rainfall expected. Have now included a
PROB30 for this possibility.

VFR conditions are mostly expected at KALS, KCOS, and KPUB through
24 hours.
Scattered showers and storms will move past KCOS and KPUB between 20-
03Z, with expected outflow winds over 40 knots. Chances for direct
impact at KPUB remains low, so left as PROB30. Confidence in precip
at KCOS has increased, so added a TEMPO group there, followed by a
PROB30 this evening for when coverage becomes more sparse.
Currently, no precip or storm-related impacts at KALS this period,
with winds mainly retaining a southerly component. Mid-level clouds
will linger across the area as well.

up against the Continental Divide remains. Gusty outflow winds

KSLC...Predominantly VFR conditions will continue through the TAF
period. South winds are expected to shift southwesterly 17Z-19Z, and
finally northwesterly between 19z and 21Z. There is a small chance
(10-30%) that afternoon thunderstorms fire off the Oquirrh Mountains
and drift into the valley in the vicinity of the airfield between
21Z and 00Z. Otherwise, winds will shift to the southeast between 3Z
and 5Z.
REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions will prevail
areawide through the valid TAF period. A line of weak showers will
push northeastward from north of KSLC to KLGU this morning.
Otherwise, Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected to
redevelop again this afternoon, mainly along the higher terrain of
Utah into Uinta County, WY. Generally light winds with typical
diurnal trends are expected at area terminals.

aviation concern continues to be convection chances this afternoon
and evening. This could bring brief heavy rain and MVFR conditions
to terminals through sunset before chances decrease. The more
widespread impact is likely to be outflow winds gusting 30 to 40
knots. Lighter winds and decreasing clouds are expected overnight
with VFR conditions then prevailing through the end of the period.

Thunderstorm activity will be more limited today than the last
few days, but still anticipate isolated to widely scattered
showers and thunderstorms to develop by mid afternoon. CYS and
SNY have the highest probability for impacts and thus have TEMPO
groups for the hazard, though the probability is only around 50
to 60%. Lower probabilities for impacts exist at all other
terminals, generally between 20 and 40%. PROB30 groups are
maintained for BFF, AIA, and CDR for this possibility. Winds
will be impacted by thunderstorm outflows through the middle
evening hours. The High Plains may see some breezy southwest
winds overnight, but the chance for fog / low CIGs tonight is
lower.
For Monday, expect winds to turn westerly in the morning, but
should remain on the light side.

Lingering stratus from a weak front this morning remains for
GLD; occasional MVFR ceilings look to continue through around
19Z but think they will become less frequent as the front moves
further away from the terminal. Winds are forecast to back
through the afternoon from the northeast to the southeast before
becoming south-southwesterly overnight. Overall light winds
around 5-10 knots are forecast to continue. Watching a 5-10%
chance of a isolated storm more than likely in the vicinity of
GLD this afternoon and around the same chance of a possible
cluster of storms this evening. MCK should remain storm free. Am
again seeing some hints of stratus for MCK Monday morning but am
not currently confident on coverage. SW winds for GLD should
mitigates stratus potential.

Prevailing winds were light out of the north to northeast at the
onset of this TAF period, which pushed the effective frontal
zone well south into western Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle.
Thus, tonight`s expected thunderstorm complex will remain pretty
far south, however since dewpoints remain high across southwest
Kansas and post-frontal winds become upslope later this
afternoon and tonight, the northern periphery of thunderstorm
activity could still impact LBL and perhaps even GCK and DDC, so
we will keep some PROB30 in the TAF for showers and
thunderstorms. Otherwise, aviation weather will remain fairly
tranquil this period with lingering MVFR stratocumulus clouds
thinning out to VFR.

sites for the 18Z TAF period. The only exception would be for
KDHT/KGUY from roughly 03-12Z, PROB30 was added for TSRA where

Thunderstorms will be focused along and near the central mountain
chain of New Mexico this afternoon with storms gradually shifting
toward the east central to northeastern high plains through the
evening. The mountains of southwestern New Mexico will also see a
few storms this afternoon. Storms will largely die off before
midnight, but a few lighter showers will linger into the early
morning. Pilots can expect the typical aviation weather hazards of
hail, frequent lightning, gusty downburst winds, and brief
downpours limiting ceilings and visibilities near and under any
thunderstorms. Hot temperatures will also be prevalent with high
density altitude readings suggesting poor aircraft performance for
some.
