Generally MVFR conditions this morning will slowly give way to VFR
during the day. Ceilings are once again a bit varied across the
Denver metro, but soundings suggest the most persistent moisture
is located at roughly 775-700mb (~2000-3000ft AGL). Guidance has
backed away from the previously foggy solutions and instead
maintain that BKN020-030 deck through most of the morning hours.
There should be a gradual scattering out of the stratus along with
a slight rise in ceilings this afternoon, but I`m not confident
that VFR returns until somewhere around 00z this evening. Lowest
confidence in timing is at APA where there`s been an attempt to
erode/advect the stratus out of the area, but with winds gradually
turning north this morning I suspect that won`t last long.
By this evening, drainage flow should develop and any remaining
stratus should dissipate... and that will continue into Wednesday.

For KCOS and KPUB..MVFR and IFR ceilings and visibilities are
expected at both stations through much of the forecast period, as
easterly upslope continues across the region. LIFR conditions in
mist and low clouds are likely for a few hours from around 13Z
through 16Z early this morning at KCOS. VFR conditions will be
possible for several hours this afternoon at both stations,
mainly from 19Z through 01 at KPUB, and from around 21Z through
04Z at KCOS, before MVFR and IFR ceilings move back in through
the overnight hours into Wednesday morning.
For KALS..VFR conditions are expected for the next 24 hours with
scattered mid and upper-level cloud decks. Southwest winds gusting
to 22kt will be possible through the daytime hours, with continued
stronger southerly winds into the evening and overnight hours as
well.

VFR conditions and clear skies will persist across the region for
the next 24 hours. A few patches of fog continue to scatter out to
start the period, with the most notable being in the upper Wind
River Basin to the north of KRIW. There may be occasional FEW to SCT
decks around FL005 at KRIW for the first hour of the TAF period as
this fog scatters out, but otherwise, no impacts are expected. Winds
remain light (less than 10kts) at all terminals through the period
as well. KCPR and KRKS will start to see winds increase late in the
period, after 16Z Wednesday.

IFR to LIFR conditions have developed at KLAR, KCYS, and KAIA
due to fog and low clouds this morning. The shallow fog at KAIA
should clear out by around 15z, whereas it may take a few more
hours to reach VFR at KLAR and KCYS where the cloud/fog layer is
a little thicker. Additionally, the chance for a temporary drop
into IFR due to fog and/or low clouds has increased for KCDR and
KBFF, but confidence is still fairly low. This was mentioned
with a morning TEMPO group.
The trend should be towards VFR at all terminals for the
afternoon, but some low clouds just above MVFR may linger around
KCYS and the central/southern NE panhandle into the afternoon.
This should finally clear around sundown. Look for increasing
southerly winds overnight at KLAR, KCDR, and KAIA, followed by
another possible round of low clouds or fog, most probable at
KCYS and KSNY towards Wednesday morning.

portions of western Nebraska. Any fog should be shallow in

For KGLD... VFR conditions are forecast through the first 12
hours. After 06Z, there is the possibility for both showers and
dense fog. While both are currently forecast to be a 20% chance
or lower, keep an eye out for changing conditions. Best chance
is around 12-16Z. The main inhibitor for the precipitation is
the forcing is forecast to be further south. The main inhibitor
for the fog is the increase in winds that are forecast. Winds
should be less than 10kts from the south/southeast through 06Z.
After that, an approaching low pressure system should
strengthen the winds through the morning with speeds around 15
kts and gusts to 25-30 kts.
For KMCK... VFR conditions are expected through the period.
Winds may be light and variable for the first 6-9 hours, before
becoming stronger and more consistent from the south/southeast
after 00-03Z. There is the possibility that fog could develop
between 06-15Z, but winds are currently forecast to strengthen
to around 10-15 kts and mix out the fog potential. Late in the
morning, gusts around 20-30kts will be possible.

LIFR ceilings are present at KAMA at this time. Low clouds at
KGUY has at least temporarily dissipating but could return this
morning. However, confidence is low at this time. If so, MVFR to
IFR ceilings would be present. Will continue to
monitor trends and adjust the forecast as needed. Otherwise,
ceilings will lift to VFR this afternoon.

Widespread MVFR/IFR ceilings along and east of the central
mountain chain and generally north of U.S. Highway 60. In fact,
near zero visibility was observed on the webcam near Clines
Corners this past hour. As for terminals IFR/MVFR vis will mainly
be focused along the east slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mts
southward along the central highlands. East canyon winds continue
at KSAF and KABQ. Northerly winds wrapping around the northern
side of the Sandia Mts into KAEG did briefly reach KABQ this past
hour, and a tempo group is introduced for that to potentially
happen again this morning. Even if the Sunport sees northerly
winds at the terminal, east canyon winds below Tijeras Canyon are
likely to just have been pushed a bit south or southeast of the
KABQ terminal. Scattered to numerous afternoon showers and
thunderstorms favored to develop over central NM today, spreading
eastward over the central highlands and east-central plains late
this afternoon and evening. MVFR conditions will accompany any of
the stronger storms. Showers will be slow to taper off b/w KSRR
and KROW tonight into Wednesday morning while low clouds redevelop
over eastern NM and advance westward into portions of the Rio
Grande Valley from KSAF to KABQ. Areas further west along the AZ
border including KGUP and KFMN will stay VFR with lighter
prevailing winds.
