Stronger tstms this aftn will depend on heating and it`s really
a 50/50 probability if that occurs or not. Have left tempo
between 21z and 01Z for tstms. Lower have scattered out wit just
a mid level deck now. Winds will stay E or ESE thru the aftn.
Overnight, there will be a weak Denver Cyclone but location isn`t
certain at this point. If winds go W or NW at DIA late tonight
can`t completely rule out some stratus in the 11z to 15Z time
period. Winds tonight will become more southerly and then go
more variable in direction by 14Z Thu.

Tsra likely at all taf sites the afternoon/early this evening
from 22z-02z, with vcsh lingering at KPUB and KCOS potentially
as late as 05z. Large hail (quarter to half dollar size) and
strong winds (gusts 50kts plus) possible with storms at KPUB
and KCOS, while main hazard with storms at KALS will be gusty
outflow winds (gusts 40-50 kts). Low potential for MVFR/brief
IFR stratus/fog at KCOS and KPUB 09z-15z Thu morning,
especially if significant precip occurs Wed night. Won`t add to
the taf at this point, and will await convective developments
before including.

TAF period. Visibility may lower at some sites due to wildfire
smoke. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are
expected to begin shortly and last through sunset. Some storms
may linger overnight, mostly near the San Juans and in the Four
Corners region. The primary concerns with thunderstorms will be
gusty outflow winds and lightning. Winds should become light
overnight.

expected to develop N/E of KCMR-KPAN line after 19Z, then gradually
move southwest through 06Z. Lingering -SHRA will be possible
overnight into Thursday morning. Brief MVFR conditions and gusty,
erratic wind gusts up to 40 kts will be possible in and around
TS. HZ/FU possible near KGCN/KPGA due to nearby wildfires.
Otherwise, VFR conditions with winds SW-NW 5-15 kts with gusts
20-25 kts in the afternoon.
OUTLOOK...Thursday 17/18Z through Saturday 19/18Z...Scattered
SHRA/TSRA continues, with strongest storms likely between 18Z-04Z
each afternoon/evening. Brief MVFR conditions and gusty, erratic

through this period. Drainage flow is currently taking hold with
northwesterly winds expected to develop around 18-19z. Following
this, drainage flow will occur once again around 04z.
.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions are settling in
across all terminals this morning. While VFR conditions will persist
across the majority of our TAF sites, particularly KBCE and KCDC
following 19z. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible near
these sites with gusty and erratic winds possible at and near the
terminals. Following sunset, VFR conditions will settle in across
all sites once again.

East of the DivideKCOD/KCPR/KLND/KRIW/KWRL Terminals.
Terminals east of the Divide continue to be under the influence
of low clouds at the start of the period. For KLND and KRIW,
models indicate that these should scatter out between 19Z and
20Z this afternoon. KWRL should also begin to scatter out around
that time, as satellite is beginning to indicate some breaking
up of lower cloud decks. KCPR and KCOD will hold onto the low
clouds much longer, with KCPR possibly holding onto MVFR decks
through 06Z. Hi-res guidance does indicate a potential brief
clearing at KCPR during the afternoon, but given continued moist
northeasterly flow, would expect this to be only brief, so have
covered the potential with a TEMPO for now. All terminals are
expected to be SKC by 09Z Thursday.
West of the DivideKBPI/KJAC/KPNA/KRKS Terminals.
SKC and quiet conditions will prevail for much of the TAF
period. Convection is expected to initiate off the Uinta
mountains this afternoon and will have the potential to impact
KRKS with most likely timing covered by the PROB30 group.
Otherwise, west-southwest winds gusting to around 20 to 25kts
will be common through the afternoon, diminishing towards
sunset. Light winds and SKC prevail overnight and through the
end of the TAF period.

Low stratus continues for areas east of the Laramie Range late
this morning. Low CIGs will likely burn off early this
afternoon, allowing destabilization for storms to form. The main
aviation concern this afternoon will be strong to severe storms
with heavy rain. Moderate to heavy rain will likely lead to
visibility drops in any storms passing over a terminal. MVFR to
IFR visibility will be possible in heavy rain. Strong, gusty
winds and large hail will also be possible in storms this
afternoon and evening. More low stratus will build in late
tonight and continue through Thursday morning.

IFR ceilings currently exist across north central Nebraska
including KVTN, while MVFR ceilings near OVC012 exist across
southwest Nebraska including KLBF. Expect ceilings to improved
to MVFR at KVTN this afternoon, to a VFR ceilings this evening
and overnight. At KLBF, expect MVFR ceilings this afternoon, to
improved to a VFR ceiling 03Z through 09Z, falling back to MVFR
after 09Z. Timing of ceiling categories and the potential for
lower ceilings exist and remain somewhat uncertain, so will
closely monitor trends through the next TAF issuance.

MVFR ceilings are forecast to continue for the majority of the
day in wake of a cold frontal passage this morning. So peaks of
some are possible during the mid to late afternoon hours
however. With the quicker movement of the front do think that
any severe threat has shifted to the south of each terminal;
however the threat for storms still remains for KGLD but may be
dependent on how far south the front sags and if any northward
moving outflow can emanate from a cluster of storms to the south
of the terminal. So will maintain the PROB30 for now; still
can`t completely rule out some showers or isolated storms for
KMCK but confidence is not at 30% to warrant a PROB30. Strong
signal for more stratus to develop behind the rain along with
some fog potential as well, currently favoring the KGLD terminal
for the fog.

A cold front will continue to move southward this evening, with
winds shifting to the northeast. Along the front between 22 and
02z, thunderstorms with gusty winds will form not far from KDDC
and KLBL. Overnight, a storm cluster will move eastward and
affect the TAF sites after 05z. The rain cooled air and upslope
flow will result in low MVFR CIGS by 08-12z and persisting
through the period before improving after the TAF period.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected in the area this evening
and overnight with greatest potential for impacts at GUY and DHT.
Chances are too low to include in AMA for now, but updates could
be needed. A frontal boundary and low level moisture will bring
MVFR conditions from north to south early Thursday and IFR
conditions can not be completely ruled out. GUY is the only site
with high enough probabilities of MVFR to mention in the TAF, but
will keep close tabs on DHT and AMA for potential these low clouds
reach further south than anticipated.

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected over
northern and western parts of the forecast area this afternoon and
evening, with scattered to isolated activity elsewhere, except for
dry weather along and east of a line from Fort Sumner to Dunken.
Some storms may turn severe this afternoon and evening across far
northeast areas with a risk of large hail and damaging winds.
Elsewhere, wet microbursts from some thunderstorms will be
capable of producing localized, brief, and erratic wind gusts up
to 45 KT this afternoon and evening. Late tonight, isolated to
widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast to linger
over western areas, and along and east of the Sangre de Cristo,
Sandia, and Manzano Mountains. Further, late tonight until mid
morning Thursday, areas of low clouds are expected to produce MVFR
and IFR conditions as far south as I-40 and potentially as far
west as the central mountain chain.
