VFR to prevail through tonight and Friday morning as drier air
moves into the area. Tricky wind pattern expected again through
this evening. Radar showing the Denver cyclone/convergent line
just south of APA and well south/southeast of DEN (farther south
than yesterday). Expect winds to stay a weak northeast direction
through mid afternoon at DEN. A surge of northwest to north winds
are expected around 22Z which could bring gusts to 25 knots. Winds
then weaken 00-03Z and turn southerly by 06Z. The southerly winds
will continue into Friday morning.

plains, affecting KCOS and KPUB, as a cold front drops south across
the plains.

VFR conditions will prevail from the Colorado River Valley
southward today. The departing low pressure center working
across WY this morning will drag its front across northeast UT
and northwest CO this afternoon. Lower ceilings for KVEL and
KHDN have been included in TAFs. TEMPO SHRA verbiage was added
at KHDN for some intermittent rainfall expected. Clouds will
clear out later this evening and SKC conditions should prevail
across the region to close out this TAF period. Winds will pick
up this afternoon behind this front with gusts to around 25 mph
across the region, decreasing to the south near the Four
Corners.

VFR conditions will prevail from the Colorado River Valley
southward today. The departing low pressure center working
across WY this morning will drag its front across northeast UT
and northwest CO this afternoon. Lower ceilings for KVEL and
KHDN have been included in TAFs. TEMPO SHRA verbiage was added
at KHDN for some intermittent rainfall expected. Clouds will
clear out later this evening and SKC conditions should prevail
across the region to close out this TAF period. Winds will pick
up this afternoon behind this front with gusts to around 25 mph
across the region, decreasing to the south near the Four
Corners.

.REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Broken clouds will decrease to
scattered throughout southwest Wyoming and much of Utah. Patchy to
locally dense fog will set up in some northern valleys. This will
bring conditions in IFR or LIFR range from roughly 09-15Z. Mountain
obscuration will last much of the day. Throughout southern Utah,

A cold winter storm is current moving from southwest to
northeast through the forecast area today, bringing a variety of
weather to the TAF sites, as well as conditions ranging from VFR
to VLIFR. Complex weather along with varying ceilings and
visibilities will continue through the afternoon into the early
evening hours before the main impacts move into northeast WY and
the northern Plains. A few locations pose an uncertain forecast
today. At KCOD, models are indicating gusty west winds
developing at some time between 09z-15z tomorrow as stronger
mid-level northwest flow moves over the area, but difficult
pinning down the timing. KCPR will be gusty at times from the
west with showers this afternoon, and remain that way overnight
with the trough passage. Have included a chance of fog at both
KJAC and KWRL based on model indications, though wouldn`t be
surprised if more sites are impacted by patchy fog early
tomorrow morning based on today`s precipitation. The rain/snow
line is right at KRKS at this time, and will continue with IFR
snow conditions for the next hour or so, with snow/rain showers
this afternoon.
Friday will see isolated showers over the western mountains,
though gusty west-northwest winds are expected in the post-
storm environment at most TAF sites. Clouds will increase again
from the northwest to southeast late Friday into Friday night
as a weak storm system approaches from the PacNW.

With our lowered ceilings and precipitation beginning to move
out, VFR conditions expected across the majority of sites today.
The one exception will be KRWL where another batch of rain is
moving towards the region and could impact through the afternoon
with some lowered CIGs or possible brief lowered VIS. Outside of
this, cloud decks will be lifting and clearing through
tomorrow morning. Winds will be gusty though, with speeds 20-40
knots through tomorrow morning and generally from a westerly
direction all sites.

A line of thunderstorms currently located just east of LBF up
through ANW will continue to slowly shift east through the
afternoon. Impacts from this activity at either LBF/VTN are
unlikely in the valid period.
A second round of thunderstorms will develop later this
afternoon across southwest Nebraska. This will likely bring

A line of showers and storms continues to slowly drift to the
east. At this time confidence is higher in these affecting the
MCK terminal with a lower chance for GLD just based on the
current orientation. Around 22-23Z another round of showers and
storms is forecast to develop to the northwest of the GLD
terminal and move slowly to the NNE. These have the potential to
have heavier rainfall and perhaps some hail and wind threat as
well. After the rainfall comes to an end winds will turn to the
north along with the potential for a transient period stratus
just behind a cold front. Any stratus is forecast to be short
lived followed by a clearing trend as drier air moves in.

focus northwest of GCK 00-06z Fri, and kept the GCK TAF dry for
now. VFR/SKC continues Friday with much lighter north winds.

Southerly wind gusts up to 25-30kts will be possible across eastern
NM through the afternoon, with relatively light winds elsewhere.
Isolated to locally scattered thunderstorms are possible across far
eastern NM this afternoon and evening, with a moderate chance of
brief MVFR conditions to any direct terminal hits. Most likely
timeframe of storms is 23z-04z, with a low chance for remnant
showers afterwards. Rapid cooling tonight will produce drainage
