Wednesday, August 27, 2025 .AVIATION /18Z TAFS through 18Z Thursday/... Issued at 1156 AM MDT Wed Aug 27 2025 First concern is for thunderstorms this afternoon. Morning stratus has kept the boundary layer cool. However, we are now near full sunshine and warming, so if we hit upper 70s (which we should do) the cap would be broken. That`s not a guarantee of course, depending on how clouds evolve, but there is also synoptic lift so that should add to coverage. As a result, we`ll use TEMPO TSRA for the most likely time period 21Z-01Z. Just like yesterday, if a storm core moves over the airport, then visibility could drop to <1SM in +TSRA. Next concern will be for patchy fog and areas of stratus again overnight given moist boundary layer and expected rainfall. While there`s some threat as soon as skies clear after midnight, the main threat would be 11Z-15Z. Winds appear to be slightly less favorable than last night, but so light that patchy fog could essentially develop anywhere. And, enough threat of a weak wind shift to NW late that fog could easily spread back to KDEN so we`ll go with TEMPO BR and LIFR ceiling. Any fog/stratus is expected to lift a little quicker Thursday morning since it will be shallow. Another round of scattered storms expected Thursday afternoon mainly after 21Z. * * * * * Southeast Colorado * * * * * METAR K4BM 272135Z AUTO 17009G14KT 10SM SCT065 16/05 A3059 RMK AO2 METAR K4BM 272115Z AUTO 00000KT 10SM SCT065 16/05 A3059 RMK AO2 METAR K4BM 272055Z AUTO 18006KT 10SM CLR 15/05 A3059 RMK AO2 SPECI KAFF 272143Z 01016KT 10SM -TSRA BKN055CB OVC070 21/13 A3021 RMK AO2A TS OHD MOV E SLP145 SPECI KAFF 272135Z 02017KT 10SM -SHRA BKN055 BKN070 OVC100 23/12 A3020 RMK AO2A TS DSIPTD SLP136 SPECI KAFF 272108Z 00000KT 10SM VCTS SCT060CB BKN100 26/11 A3018 RMK AO2A TS 9NW MOV E SLP123 KCOS 271738Z 2718/2818 18008KT P6SM SCT070 BKN150 PROB30 2720/2724 VRB20G30KT 3SM -TSRA BKN050CB FM280100 33008KT P6SM VCSH BKN080 FM280700 32006KT P6SM BKN100 FM281600 01009KT P6SM SCT050 SCT120 SPECI KCOS 272142Z 06015G23KT 10SM FEW070 SCT100 BKN160 24/11 A3018 RMK AO2 CB DSNT NE MOV E T02440106 $ METAR KCOS 272054Z 18006KT 10SM FEW070 SCT100 SCT160 27/10 A3017 RMK AO2 SLP130 CB NE MOV E T02670100 58012 $ METAR KCOS 271954Z 21010KT 10SM FEW070 FEW100 SCT160 26/11 A3019 RMK AO2 SLP139 TCU DSNT N T02560111 $ METAR KFLY 272135Z AUTO 05006KT 10SM -RA 15/12 A3026 RMK AO2 T01460115 METAR KFLY 272115Z AUTO 09009KT 4SM TSRA 12/09 A3026 RMK AO2 LTG DSNT NE T01240088 METAR KFLY 272055Z AUTO 02009G14KT 1/2SM +TSRA 14/09 A3027 RMK AO2 LTG DSNT W THRU NE T01430085 KFCS 272127Z 2720/2902 15012G18KT 9999 VCTS SCT050CB BKN090 BKN120 QNH3015INS TEMPO 2721/2801 VRB25G35KT 8000 -TSRAGR BKN040 OVC050CB TEMPO 2803/2808 35012KT 9000 -SHRA OVC030 BECMG 2809/2810 33009KT 9999 NSW SCT010 BKN050 QNH3021INS BECMG 2815/2816 16009KT 9999 BKN060 QNH3023INS BECMG 2819/2820 08009KT 9000 -SHRA VCTS BKN050CB QNH3020INS TEMPO 2821/2901 14015G25KT 8000 -TSRAGR BKN050CB TX28/2721Z TN12/2812Z METAR KFCS 272055Z AUTO 17006KT 10SM FEW095 28/12 A3012 RMK AO2 LTG DSNT NE SLP132 T02770121 57017 $ METAR KFCS 271955Z AUTO 21004KT 10SM FEW085 SCT130 27/13 A3015 RMK AO2 SLP142 T02670134 $ METAR KFCS 271855Z AUTO 15003KT 10SM BKN090 26/12 A3016 RMK AO2 SLP150 T02590120 $ KPUB 272004Z 2720/2818 30010G20KT P6SM SCT080 SCT150 FM272200 13008KT P6SM SCT080 BKN100 PROB30 2722/2802 VRB20G35KT -TSRA BKN070CB FM280200 30008KT P6SM VCSH BKN100 FM280600 36008KT P6SM BKN120 FM281100 30008KT P6SM SCT120 FM281700 12007KT P6SM SCT080 SCT140 METAR KPUB 272053Z 26004KT 10SM FEW090 31/09 A3006 RMK AO2 SLP111 T03110089 58018 METAR KPUB 271953Z 27008G19KT 10SM CLR 31/10 A3008 RMK AO2 SLP120 T03060100 METAR KPUB 271853Z 27011G18KT 10SM CLR 29/12 A3010 RMK AO2 SLP128 T02940122 METAR KTAD 272054Z AUTO VRB03KT 10SM CLR 29/11 A3016 RMK AO2 SLP129 T02940106 58015 SPECI KTAD 272032Z AUTO 10SM CLR 29/11 A3017 RMK AO2 T02940106 SPECI KTAD 272017Z AUTO VRB05KT 10SM VCTS CLR 29/11 A3017 RMK AO2 LTG DSNT SE T02890106 METAR KLAA 272053Z AUTO 29010G15KT 10SM CLR 33/13 A3001 RMK AO2 SLP108 T03330133 56019 METAR KLAA 271953Z AUTO 26006KT 10SM CLR 32/15 A3003 RMK AO2 SLP119 T03170150 METAR KLAA 271853Z AUTO VRB03KT 10SM CLR 28/17 A3005 RMK AO2 SLP128 T02830172 METAR KSPD 272056Z AUTO 21009G17KT 32/16 A3005 RMK AO1 SLP108 T03220156 58018 METAR KSPD 271956Z AUTO VRB03KT 31/16 A3007 RMK AO1 SLP117 T03110156 METAR KSPD 271856Z AUTO 22014G21KT 29/16 A3009 RMK AO1 PK WND 21026/1811 SLP126 T02940161 Sunrise/Sunset for 08/27/2025 Burlington - 06:13:37 MDT / 19:27:21 MDT Pueblo - 06:24:16 MDT / 19:35:29 MDT Lamar - 06:16:28 MDT / 19:27:15 MDT Pueblo (KPUX) 08/27/25 21:41 UTC Radar VAD winds Height Dir/Spd(kt) 33000 FT MSL...286/040 31000 FT MSL...287/046 30000 FT MSL...285/045 29000 FT MSL...287/057 27000 FT MSL...292/040 25000 FT MSL...282/032 24000 FT MSL...260/023 23000 FT MSL...286/027 22700 FT MSL...207/008 22000 FT MSL...275/017 21000 FT MSL...262/016 20000 FT MSL...240/023 19300 FT MSL...282/012 19000 FT MSL...246/019 18000 FT MSL...246/016 17000 FT MSL...253/014 16600 FT MSL...288/013 16000 FT MSL...279/014 15000 FT MSL...278/016 14200 FT MSL...252/010 14000 FT MSL...258/008 13000 FT MSL...272/011 12400 FT MSL...280/007 12000 FT MSL...299/005 11000 FT MSL...284/008 10900 FT MSL...301/007 10000 FT MSL...311/008 9700 FT MSL...321/008 9000 FT MSL...335/008 8600 FT MSL...328/008 8000 FT MSL...329/008 7800 FT MSL...334/007 7000 FT MSL...350/007 7000 FT MSL...344/007 6400 FT MSL...346/006 6000 FT MSL...356/005 5900 FT MSL...312/006 5700 FT MSL...323/006 Pueblo Aviation Discussion Issued at 2036 UTC Wednesday, August 27, 2025 .AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z THURSDAY/... Issued at 1138 AM MDT Wed Aug 27 2025 VFR conditions expected through the afternoon and evening with TSRA developing over the mountains and valleys around noon and spreading off into the adjacent plains during the afternoon and evening. Have included an Prob30 for all three TAF sites with the earliest start time at KALS at 18z, and a bit latter 20-22z at KCOS and KPUB. Brief MVFR cigs/vis will be possible under the stronger storms with +TSRA along with gusty erratic outflow winds up to 40 kts. Activity should pull east of the terminals during the late evening with VFR cloudiness persisting overnight. If rain occurs at the terminals some patchy ground fog will be possible. Given the light drainage winds at all three terminals did not include fog in the TAFs at this point as odds look too low. Another round of thunderstorms will be possible Thursday afternoon. -KT * * * * * Northwest Colorado * * * * * METAR KCAG 272053Z AUTO 20011G20KT 10SM BKN047 BKN060 BKN100 20/13 A3025 RMK AO2 SLP181 Issued at 1144 AM MDT Wed Aug 27 2025 Isolated to scattered showers are ongoing across the region. Through the evening showers and thunderstorms are possible at all TAF sites. Issued at 1149 AM MDT Wed Aug 27 2025 A band of stratiform rain showers continues to push across the region at the start of the period, as of 18Z, located along a line from KJAC to KCPR. As it crosses the Owl Creek and Bridger Mountains, it is expected to start to break up a bit, however rain showers at KCOD and KWRL are expected during the afternoon as the band moves through. Some isolated low clouds across the Wind River Basin (including at KRIW and KLND) have been observed behind the line of showers but are expected to break up into the early afternoon. Some clearing west of the Divide has already begun, which will prompt convective development during the afternoon. PROB30 groups have been included for KBPI, KPNA, and KRKS for this convection. Overnight, low clouds and perhaps even fog are expected to develop at several terminals (10 to 30% chances) with greatest chances at KBPI, KPNA, KJAC, and KCPR. There is not enough confidence to drop cigs or vsby in the TAFs below MVFR at this time, but if fog develops (10 to 15% chance), expect to see IFR to LIFR conditions through much of Thursday morning (10Z through 16Z timeframe). By late morning, more significant clearing is expected ahead of the next shortwave. Please see the Aviation Weather Center and/or CWSU ZDV and ZLC for the latest information on smoke, icing, and turbulence forecasts. Cheyenne Aviation Discussion Issued at 2038 UTC Wednesday, August 27, 2025 .AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z THURSDAY/... Issued at 1129 AM MDT Wed Aug 27 2025 Scattered to widespread showers are expected across the Wyoming terminals. Due to the weak nature of the showers its a little uncertain as to whether the showers will move into the Nebraska Panhandle. The ceilings will fluctuate between scattered, broken, and overcast throughout the day. This makes forecasted VFR to MVFR conditions difficult but assume the cloud may turn overcast at the reported altitude later in the day especially for our Wyoming terminals. * * * * * Nebraska * * * * * METAR KIBM 272135Z AUTO 05008KT 10SM OVC090 22/15 A3013 RMK AO2 T02190154 METAR KIBM 272115Z AUTO 03010KT 10SM OVC100 21/16 A3013 RMK AO2 LTG DSNT NE T02120156 METAR KIBM 272055Z AUTO 03013G20KT 10SM VCTS SCT027 BKN100 23/17 A3014 RMK AO2 LTG DSNT NE THRU S P0057 60057 T02270169 KSNY 272117Z 2721/2818 10006KT P6SM OVC060 TEMPO 2722/2801 VRB20G30KT 4SM TSRA OVC080CB FM280200 VRB06KT P6SM OVC080 FM280600 21007KT P6SM OVC100 METAR KSNY 272053Z AUTO 10008KT 10SM CLR 26/15 A3007 RMK AO2 LTG DSNT W AND NW SLP135 T02610150 58016 METAR KSNY 271953Z AUTO 03007KT 10SM CLR 26/16 A3009 RMK AO2 SLP141 T02560156 METAR KSNY 271853Z AUTO VRB05KT 10SM SCT029 24/16 A3011 RMK AO2 SLP149 T02390156 METAR KOGA 272135Z AUTO 09010KT 10SM OVC018 21/18 A3009 RMK AO2 T02100182 METAR KOGA 272115Z AUTO 10008KT 10SM OVC018 22/18 A3009 RMK AO2 T02160182 METAR KOGA 272055Z AUTO 08008KT 10SM OVC020 22/18 A3008 RMK AO2 T02200184 SPECI KIML 272139Z AUTO 10007KT 10SM OVC016 20/17 A3009 RMK AO2 T02000167 METAR KIML 272053Z AUTO 09005KT 10SM OVC014 19/17 A3009 RMK AO2 SLP173 T01940167 56007 METAR KIML 271953Z AUTO 12007KT 10SM OVC013 19/17 A3010 RMK AO2 SLP174 T01940167 KMCK 271720Z 2718/2818 11006KT P6SM OVC013 FM272000 15007KT P6SM BKN022 OVC035 FM272300 14008KT P6SM BKN035 FM280200 VRB06KT P6SM BKN010 FM280600 VRB06KT 3SM BR OVC003 METAR KMCK 272053Z AUTO 12006KT 9SM OVC018 21/17 A3008 RMK AO2 SLP171 T02110167 58008 SPECI KMCK 272015Z AUTO 13010KT 9SM OVC015 21/17 A3009 RMK AO2 T02060167 METAR KMCK 271953Z AUTO 14010KT 9SM OVC014 21/17 A3009 RMK AO2 SLP176 T02060167 North Platte (KLNX) 08/27/25 21:39 UTC Radar VAD winds Height Dir/Spd(kt) 30000 FT MSL...301/024 28000 FT MSL...279/025 26000 FT MSL...271/025 25000 FT MSL...277/024 24600 FT MSL...266/023 24000 FT MSL...268/023 22000 FT MSL...284/021 20400 FT MSL...288/017 20000 FT MSL...290/016 19000 FT MSL...254/008 17000 FT MSL...324/006 16900 FT MSL...330/006 16000 FT MSL...298/008 15000 FT MSL...289/008 14200 FT MSL...331/006 14000 FT MSL...331/006 13000 FT MSL...345/009 12000 FT MSL...350/008 12000 FT MSL...348/008 11000 FT MSL...349/008 10100 FT MSL...343/010 10000 FT MSL...341/012 9000 FT MSL...346/008 8600 FT MSL...066/003 8000 FT MSL...079/003 7400 FT MSL...113/006 7000 FT MSL...129/009 6000 FT MSL...118/007 5500 FT MSL...122/004 5000 FT MSL...158/003 4700 FT MSL...155/006 4100 FT MSL...163/007 4000 FT MSL...166/008 3600 FT MSL...156/010 3400 FT MSL...153/009 North Platte Aviation Discussion Issued at 1925 UTC Wednesday, August 27, 2025 .AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z THURSDAY/... Issued at 1221 PM CDT Wed Aug 27 2025 MVFR conditions are expected to continue across southwest Nebraska and the Sandhills this afternoon, as a deck of stratus remains across the region. May begin to see some return to VFR this evening for a few hours, before conditions rapidly drop into IFR and LIFR conditions overnight. However, across north central Nebraska, VFR conditions are expected to prevail, as the region stays just north of the lower stratus ceilings. Showers and thunderstorms may track across southwest Nebraska tonight, bringing another shot of moisture to the area. Confidence is low in showers at KLBF, so have kept mention out of the overnight period. However, the recent moisture and light winds overnight may bring fog development across southwest and south central Nebraska. Fog in combination with low ceilings brings LIFR potential overnight, with a return to MVFR by mid morning, as fog dissipates. * * * * * Kansas * * * * * KGLD 271720Z 2718/2818 20010KT P6SM BKN180 TEMPO 2718/2721 BKN025 FM272100 17008KT P6SM BKN040 FM280300 10006KT P6SM VCSH BKN035 PROB30 2803/2807 VRB25G35KT 2SM -TSRA OVC025CB FM280700 VRB06KT 5SM BR OVC007 METAR KGLD 272053Z AUTO 11007G18KT 10SM FEW039 27/17 A3005 RMK AO2 SLP137 T02720167 58009 METAR KGLD 271953Z AUTO 00000KT 10SM BKN045 25/16 A3007 RMK AO2 SLP145 T02500156 METAR KGLD 271853Z AUTO 20008KT 10SM BKN031 24/16 A3008 RMK AO2 SLP150 T02440161 KGCK 272148Z 2722/2818 20015G25KT P6SM BKN035 FM280300 14008KT P6SM OVC025 FM281200 02008KT 5SM BR BKN006= METAR KGCK 272054Z 18018G24KT 10SM SCT035 27/19 A3003 RMK AO2 SLP140 T02720189 58019 METAR KGCK 271954Z 17016G26KT 10SM BKN030 OVC036 26/19 A3006 RMK AO2 PK WND 18026/1855 SLP150 T02610189 METAR KGCK 271854Z 20016G21KT 10SM BKN026 BKN032 26/18 A3008 RMK AO2 SLP158 T02560183 METAR KLBL 272056Z AUTO 19013G20KT 10SM FEW042 28/19 A3006 RMK AO2 SLP150 6//// T02830189 58016 PNO $ METAR KLBL 271956Z AUTO 20013KT 10SM SCT038 28/19 A3008 RMK AO2 SLP160 T02830194 PNO $ METAR KLBL 271856Z AUTO 20018G23KT 10SM FEW026 SCT031 27/19 A3011 RMK AO2 SLP169 T02670194 PNO $ METAR KEHA 272135Z AUTO 22015KT 10SM CLR 32/17 A3005 RMK AO2 T03220169 METAR KEHA 272115Z AUTO 21013KT 10SM CLR 31/17 A3006 RMK AO2 T03080173 METAR KEHA 272055Z AUTO 21012KT 10SM CLR 30/17 A3007 RMK AO2 T03000175 Goodland (KGLD) 08/27/25 21:39 UTC Radar VAD winds Height Dir/Spd(kt) 24000 FT MSL...275/021 22000 FT MSL...278/025 20000 FT MSL...272/031 15000 FT MSL...320/022 14800 FT MSL...319/020 14000 FT MSL...321/019 13000 FT MSL...316/018 12600 FT MSL...317/019 12000 FT MSL...311/015 11000 FT MSL...300/013 10700 FT MSL...294/012 10000 FT MSL...242/012 9300 FT MSL...225/012 9000 FT MSL...219/013 8000 FT MSL...200/010 8000 FT MSL...200/010 7000 FT MSL...146/010 6900 FT MSL...149/009 6200 FT MSL...116/010 6000 FT MSL...108/013 5400 FT MSL...101/011 5000 FT MSL...095/014 4700 FT MSL...092/011 4300 FT MSL...084/014 4000 FT MSL...086/013 4000 FT MSL...082/013 Dodge City (KDDC) 08/27/25 21:42 UTC Radar VAD winds Height Dir/Spd(kt) 25000 FT MSL...276/046 24000 FT MSL...300/035 22000 FT MSL...298/032 20000 FT MSL...279/034 19000 FT MSL...268/037 18000 FT MSL...259/041 17000 FT MSL...259/026 16000 FT MSL...277/022 15000 FT MSL...260/026 14000 FT MSL...266/028 13900 FT MSL...258/026 13000 FT MSL...272/029 12000 FT MSL...274/029 11500 FT MSL...276/028 11000 FT MSL...275/025 10000 FT MSL...274/019 9600 FT MSL...269/017 9000 FT MSL...262/015 8100 FT MSL...253/014 8000 FT MSL...259/015 7000 FT MSL...241/017 6900 FT MSL...241/017 6000 FT MSL...226/018 5900 FT MSL...231/020 5100 FT MSL...206/016 5000 FT MSL...205/015 4300 FT MSL...187/013 4000 FT MSL...185/014 3800 FT MSL...173/012 3200 FT MSL...171/014 3000 FT MSL...163/014 3000 FT MSL...163/014 Goodland Aviation Discussion Issued at 2039 UTC Wednesday, August 27, 2025 .AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z THURSDAY/... Issued at 1010 AM MDT Wed Aug 27 2025 GLD: S winds at 10-15 knots are anticipated to back to the SE (~21Z) and E (~00Z) this afternoon.. as a weak lee cyclone in central CO tracks southeastward into southeast CO. IFR ceilings will gradually lift/improve to MVFR by early afternoon. Further improvement to VFR is expected during the mid-late afternoon, though.. intermittent or occasional MVFR ceilings are a possibility. Ceilings are expected to deteriorate to MVFR-IFR late this evening (after sunset).. with further deterioration to IFR or LIFR likely overnight. Substantial improvement may not occur until the end of the 18Z TAF period (late Thursday morning). Showers and thunderstorms could potentially impact the Goodland terminal this evening.. mainly ~03-07Z.. when convection may (1) approach from the west and/or (2) develop directly over northwest KS. Gusty/erratic surface winds can be expected in vicinity of any storms. MCK: Light (5-10 knot) southerly to easterly winds will prevail through the majority of the TAF period.. perhaps becoming variable, at times. MVFR ceilings should gradually lift/improve to MVFR by early afternoon. While a few showers cannot be ruled out late this evening and overnight.. guidance suggests that convection should largely, perhaps entirely, be confined south of the McCook terminal. Issued at 1242 PM CDT Wed Aug 27 2025 IFR conditions in the Hays area will slowly improve into the MVFR conditions after 00Z Thursday. Elsewhere low ceilings between 1500 and 3000 feet AGL will give way to VFR conditions through 21Z today. These improving conditions late today and early tonight will quickly deteriorate as thunderstorm chances increase across southwest Kansas after 02Z Thursday. A cluster of thunderstorms is expected to cross western Kansas between 03z and 12z Thursday and as these storms pass ceilings will fall below 500 feet AGL and southerly winds will shift to the north. Areas of fog cannot be ruled out late tonight and early Thursday morning. The HREF and LAMP models suggest a 40 to 60 percent chance for visibilities to fall below 2 miles at times between 09Z and 15Z Sunday. * * * * * Texas/Oklahoma * * * * * KGUY 271720Z 2718/2818 21015G25KT P6SM SCT020 BKN250 FM280000 19011KT P6SM FEW100 PROB30 2802/2807 4SM -TSRA OVC050CB FM280700 34010KT P6SM SCT070 BKN100= METAR KGUY 272053Z AUTO 21014G21KT 10SM CLR 31/17 A3002 RMK AO2 PK WND 18026/2004 SLP119 T03110172 58025 METAR KGUY 271953Z AUTO 19013KT 10SM CLR 28/18 A3005 RMK AO2 SLP134 T02830178 METAR KGUY 271853Z AUTO 22019G27KT 10SM CLR 28/17 A3007 RMK AO2 PK WND 21030/1809 SLP142 T02780172 KDHT 271720Z 2718/2818 21017G27KT P6SM SCT025 FM280100 21013KT P6SM FEW080 SCT150 FM280900 32010KT P6SM BKN250 METAR KDHT 272053Z AUTO 24016G26KT 10SM CLR 31/14 A3010 RMK AO2 PK WND 20028/2032 SLP134 T03110144 56020 METAR KDHT 271953Z AUTO 20015G24KT 10SM CLR 31/15 A3012 RMK AO2 PK WND 22028/1855 SLP141 T03060150 METAR KDHT 271853Z AUTO 22018G27KT 10SM CLR 29/16 A3015 RMK AO2 PK WND 21029/1756 SLP152 T02890156 Amarillo (KAMA) 08/27/25 21:39 UTC Radar VAD winds Height Dir/Spd(kt) 15000 FT MSL...247/015 14800 FT MSL...269/012 14000 FT MSL...250/020 13000 FT MSL...233/020 12600 FT MSL...234/022 12000 FT MSL...230/022 11000 FT MSL...231/022 10700 FT MSL...231/023 10000 FT MSL...231/022 9200 FT MSL...229/021 9000 FT MSL...229/021 8000 FT MSL...222/020 8000 FT MSL...223/020 7000 FT MSL...213/018 6900 FT MSL...213/018 6100 FT MSL...204/017 6000 FT MSL...203/017 5300 FT MSL...198/017 5000 FT MSL...191/016 4600 FT MSL...189/016 4200 FT MSL...180/017 4000 FT MSL...178/016 4000 FT MSL...183/016 Amarillo Aviation Discussion Issued at 1740 UTC Wednesday, August 27, 2025 .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 1240 AM CDT Wed Aug 27 2025 An active weather pattern continues to impact the panhandles and all the terminals for the next several days. For today the low level cloud deck is burning off which will see the terminals improve to VFR conditions during this afternoon. The VFR conditions then have a high chance of remaining so as low level dry moves into the panhandles. There is an exception with a low to moderate chance for rain showers and thunderstorms in the northern panhandles this evening into the overnight. These could cause brief reductions to MVFR conditions at KGUY if the pass over the airfield. The chances of these impacting KDHT are to low to be reflected within the current TAFs. Then for Thursday there is a further low chance for rain showers and thunderstorms that can also reduce conditions to MVFR if they impact any of the terminals. Currently the chances of this occurring are to low to be reflected within any of the TAFs. The winds today will remain southerly and gusty through the afternoon into the evening. For Thursday the winds will initially be southerly but will shift to the north following the passage of a cold front. This front will move N to S over the panhandles during the morning hours impacting KGUY then KDHT and lastly KAMA. * * * * * New Mexico * * * * * KFMN 271740Z 2718/2818 25005KT P6SM FEW060 SCT100 FM272000 27010KT P6SM SCT080 PROB30 2721/2724 VRB15G28KT -SHRA BKN070 FM280100 VRB05KT P6SM SCT100 METAR KFMN 272053Z AUTO 22007KT 10SM CLR 28/09 A3022 RMK AO2 SLP172 T02780094 58014 METAR KFMN 271953Z 25013G18KT 10SM CLR 27/10 A3024 RMK AO2 SLP180 T02720100 METAR KFMN 271853Z 32008KT 10SM FEW065 26/12 A3026 RMK AO2 SLP186 T02610117 KLVS 271740Z 2718/2818 22011KT P6SM FEW100 PROB30 2720/2723 VRB15G28KT -TSRA BKN060CB FM280200 24008KT P6SM BKN080 FM280500 VRB06KT P6SM FEW100 METAR KLVS 272053Z AUTO 16005KT 10SM BKN060 BKN070 23/12 A3028 RMK AO2 SLP152 T02330122 58017 $ METAR KLVS 271953Z AUTO 17005KT 10SM BKN050 OVC070 23/12 A3031 RMK AO2 SLP157 T02280122 $ METAR KLVS 271853Z AUTO 19008G17KT 10SM CLR 23/13 A3033 RMK AO2 SLP162 T02280128 $ METAR KRTN 272053Z AUTO 17007G17KT 140V200 10SM CLR A3021 RMK AO2 SLPNO 58017 METAR KRTN 271953Z AUTO VRB03KT 10SM CLR A3024 RMK AO2 SLPNO METAR KRTN 271853Z AUTO 20009KT 10SM CLR A3026 RMK AO2 SLPNO METAR KCAO 272055Z AUTO 21013G23KT 10SM CLR 28/16 A3014 RMK AO2 PK WND 21028/2034 SLP140 T02830156 58016 METAR KCAO 271955Z AUTO 23016G24KT 10SM CLR 28/16 A3016 RMK AO2 PK WND 22027/1901 SLP148 T02780156 METAR KCAO 271855Z AUTO 22017KT 10SM CLR 26/17 A3018 RMK AO2 PK WND 24027/1819 SLP159 T02560167 Albuquerque (KABX) 08/27/25 21:39 UTC Radar VAD winds Height Dir/Spd(kt) 35000 FT MSL...283/011 34400 FT MSL...338/005 30000 FT MSL...339/006 28000 FT MSL...290/017 26600 FT MSL...309/007 26000 FT MSL...282/023 25000 FT MSL...294/015 24000 FT MSL...290/015 23300 FT MSL...282/014 22000 FT MSL...279/011 20000 FT MSL...266/013 19800 FT MSL...272/013 19000 FT MSL...261/014 18000 FT MSL...270/018 17100 FT MSL...267/021 17000 FT MSL...272/015 16000 FT MSL...267/019 15000 FT MSL...254/018 14800 FT MSL...257/020 14000 FT MSL...264/018 13000 FT MSL...273/019 13000 FT MSL...275/019 12000 FT MSL...273/018 11400 FT MSL...275/016 11000 FT MSL...270/015 10300 FT MSL...281/014 10000 FT MSL...280/010 9000 FT MSL...276/009 8400 FT MSL...001/003 8000 FT MSL...273/010 7700 FT MSL...306/006 7000 FT MSL...300/009 7000 FT MSL...293/010 6500 FT MSL...269/005 6300 FT MSL...278/005 Albuquerque Aviation Discussion Issued at 1932 UTC Wednesday, August 27, 2025 .AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1142 AM MDT Wed Aug 27 2025 MVFR cigs linger in a few areas, but low clouds should clear out by 19Z at the latest. Showers have already begun to develop over the western high terrain and will continue to expand in coverage eastward through the afternoon. Storm intensity will be lower than previous days, but gusty and erratic winds will still be a concern at all terminals. Precipitation will be very short-lived, but PROB30 groups were included at most terminals due to the threat of gusty outflow winds. * * * * * Winds and Temperatures Aloft Forecasts * * * * * DATA BASED ON 271200Z VALID 271800Z FOR USE 1700-2100Z.
