VFR conditions expected to prevail through the TAF period. Winds
will continue to be light from the east/southeast for the next few
hours before turning to the south and then settling into drainage.
Clear skies and light winds should prevail overnight. Some of the
model guidance suggests the possibility for low cloud ceilings,
around 2-3000ft, in the early morning hours (06-12Z), though at this
time confidence is too low to include a low ceilings group in the
TAF. Tomorrow morning and early afternoon should look much like
today, with light winds from the east/southeast and mostly clear
skies. A few showers or thunderstorms are possible tomorrow
afternoon and evening, though currently we don`t expect there to be
enough instability over the area to support strong storms. As such,
we`ve kept the PROB30 for SHRA and will upgrade to a TEMPO should
there be more instability/surface moisture in tomorrow`s
observations.

KALS...VFR through much of the next 24 hours at the terminal.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the San Luis
Valley this afternoon into early evening, with could bring
reduced CIGS to near 4 kft along with gusty outflow winds near
30 kts.
KCOS...low stratus with CIGS near 4 kft will continue to lower
overnight to near 2 kft. A couple of showers remain possible,
however, model guidance has less activity through around 08Z
tonight. Low CIGS will remain in place through the morning
improving through the afternoon. A late afternoon and evening
shower or thunderstorm will be possible with gusty outflow winds
and lowered CIGS.
KPUB...low stratus will continue to lower at the terminal
overnight to near 2 kft and prevail through the morning. Showers
and thunderstorms are possible during the late afternoon and
evening with gusty outflow winds and reduced CIGS.

KSLC...Moisture increasing from the south will yield increasing
clouds overnight with a 30% chance for showers to impact the
terminal between 06-12z. While winds remain generally light out of
the southeast through the morning, these showers may produce periods
of variable winds. Additional shower activity is possible through
the afternoon before chances for thunderstorms increase after 20z.
Storms tomorrow afternoon will be capable of producing heavy
rainfall and gusty and erratic outflow winds in excess of 35 kts.
REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions prevail overall
for all regional terminals into Tuesday morning. Winds remain
generally light and diurnally driven across northern Utah into
Tuesday, while gusty southwesterly winds develop across southwest
Utah Tuesday afternoon. Shower activity currently ongoing across
central Utah will continue to spread northward through the evening
and overnight, with showers impacting most northern Utah and
southwest Wyoming terminals through Tuesday afternoon. Thunderstorms
are expected to develop mainly across the northeastern portion of
the airspace after roughly 20-21z, with potential to produce gusty
and erratic outflow winds in excess of 40 kts and heavy rainfall
that could drop VIS to MVFR/IFR at times.

VFR conditions will prevail across all terminals throughout much of
the TAF period. The one caveat to this may be some patchy fog
possible nearby KCPR around 10Z to 16Z Tuesday morning. Otherwise
winds remain light at 5 to 10 knots through the overnight into
Tuesday morning. A disturbance is expected to begin to near the
region Tuesday bringing with it chances for showers and
thunderstorms across nearly all terminals. Showers and storms look
to start developing shortly after 18Z with PROB30 groups starting at
KJAC, KPNA, KBPI, and KRKS by 21Z through 03Z Wednesday. Terminals
east of the Divide look to see precipitation arrive closer to 00Z
Wednesday with many terminals seeing PROB30 groups start around 23Z
Tuesday through 04Z Wednesday. KCPR and KCOD may see lingering
showers and storm into the end of the TAF period. The stronger
storms if moving directly overhead a terminal may create brief MVFR
to IFR conditions. The main concerns with any convection will be
brief periods of moderate to heavy rain and strong gusty winds of 35
to 45 knots. Strong wind gusts nearing 50 knots cannot be ruled out
especially east of the Divide. Mountains will likely be obscured
through the afternoon and evening Tuesday with some improvement
possible to end the period as precipitation dissipates.

Low CIGs and patchy fog will lead to flight category reductions
for much of the TAF period. Low clouds are apparent on satellite
moving quickly westward. Expect MVFR to IFR conditions to move
into BFF, CYS, and SNY soon, with reduced conditions expected
into Tuesday morning. There is still a possibility that CIGs
waffle back and forth between flight categories through this
period, but at least some periods of IFR to LIFR are expected at
CYS, BFF, AIA, and SNY. Confidence is lower at CDR, and a brief
dip into IFR due to fog development is possible (20% chance) at
LAR.
Expect this to clear from west to east Tuesday. CYS should
return to VFR mid morning, but western Nebraska may hold onto
reduced CIGs into the early afternoon. Southeast winds will be
on the increase Tuesday, with gusts of 20 to 30 knots Tuesday PM
and overnight at all high plains terminals. In Wyoming, a few
showers and thunderstorms will be possible in the late
afternoon and evening, moving out of the southwest. PROB30
groups have been introduced.

Scattered VFR skies will persist through the evening, with IFR
ceilings developing late tonight, possibly lowering to LIFR
tomorrow morning when patchy fog could briefly drop visibilities
down to 4-5 SM within the hours surrounding sunrise. Otherwise,
moderate southeasterly winds return by the afternoon, with
gusts to 20-25+ knots.

A weak surface boundary will move into southwest Kansas
overnight. North of this boundary the latest models indicate low
clouds below 1000ft and area of fog will develop. Currently the
most favorable area for these low clouds and fog will be in the
Hays area but patchy fog/stratus can not be completely ruled
out between 10z and 14z in the Dodge City and Garden City areas.
At Hays tonight the visibilities as low as 3/4 mile will be
possible at times between 10z and 15z. There is also a 50-70%
chance for ceilings to fall below 500ft during this time frame.
After 15z VFR conditions will return to all TAF sites. Light
winds overnight will become southeast and increase to near 15
knots between 15 and 18z Tuesday as surface pressures fall along
the lee of the Rockies.

VFR prevails into this evening with increased broken cirrus from
west to east tonight. A frontal boundary currently stalled N-S
thru eastern NM with abundant moisture behind it will surge
westward thru the gaps of the central mountain chain near the
midnight hour and to the Continental Divide Tuesday morning.
IFR/MVFR ceilings are likely to break out along the east slopes of
the central mountain chain as well as across portions of eastern
NM. While light drizzle or rain is initially expected over eastern
NM, cannot entirely rule out a more robust shower or even isolated
thunderstorm there during the predawn period. East canyon winds
gusting 25-30kts are expected to reach KSAF and KABQ as well,
although northeasterly winds wrapping around the northern side of
the Sandia Mts into KAEG could cause erratic wind direction and
speed changes at KAEG and less likely at KABQ Tuesday morning.
Southeasterly winds are expected to become dominant at KABQ mid-
to-late morning and thereafter. Numerous to widespread showers
and thunderstorms are expected to break out over the central and
western high terrain early Tuesday afternoon, quickly filling into
surrounding lower elevations of central and western NM, as well as
expanding over eastern NM in the afternoon. Widespread shower with
embedded thunderstorms activity is expected to linger well beyond
the current TAF period Tuesday night and through Wednesday for
most areas.
