Issued at 708 PM MDT Sat Jun 14 2025 The convection to the north and northeast of DIA is now pushing a boundary south and southeastward, but I am not completely certain if it will make to DIA bringing north to northeasterly winds behind it. Will keep an eye on it. The convective allowing models do not have any convection at DIA for the rest of the evening and overnight. There is still an outside chance, however, that all the boundaries floating around could help fire off some more convection in or around the big airport. Will leave it out for now. Winds are pretty strong out of the south-southeast right now, and normal drainage patterns are excepted by 06Z. Issued at 544 PM MDT Sat Jun 14 2025 VFR conditions anticipated across the forecast area over the next 24 hours, including the three main TAF sites of KCOS, KPUB and KALS. Ongoing isolated convection over the higher terrain and Pikes Peak region is expected to continue until around 02z before diminishing. Isolated convection will also be possible along the southern CO border. Main threat from any storms will be gusty outflow winds of 30-35 kts and small hail. KCOS: Best chance for thunderstorm activity, so maintained VCTS as well as TEMPO for -TSRA and higher variable gusts until 02z. Clearing mid and high level cloud deck overnight. KPUB: SE surface winds with higher gusts to around 25 kts possible until 02z. Guidance is indicating potential for a brief period of some stronger northerly winds late, so included a TEMPO group for 05z-07z for a 15 kt northerly push. This ignites a new round of stronger storms, with heavy rain and hail, across Johnson County between 00Z-03Z/Sunday. Isolated lingering convection over central and southwest Wyoming will be high-based and lead to only brief rain and gusty outflow wind of 35-45kts. Another round of convection erupts early Sunday afternoon across many of the same areas as Saturday. KCOD and KWRL are again the most likely terminals to see thunderstorm impacts after 20Z/Sunday.
