Winds overnight will primarily be light from the south/southwest
or variable. The one exception could be an hour or two of stronger
winds (10 to 15kts) from the northeast as an outflow boundary from
convection to our northeast moves through KDEN. We currently have
the boundary reaching KDEN around 09Z, but it is possible that the
boundary could weaken and wash out before reaching the airport.
Models are still hinting at low clouds and potential fog at our 3
TAF sites. KDEN is expected to have the worst impacts from the
fog today, but it could spread south and west towards KBJC and
KAPA. Visibilities below 1SM will be possible between 11Z and 14Z
this morning at KDEN. We have another chance of showers and
thunderstorms this afternoon, but coverage is expected to be lower
than the past couple of days, so we`ve opted for a Prob30 rather
than a TEMPO for the mid afternoon and evening.

KCOS and KPUB: VFR conditions are expected over the next 24 hours.
Dry conditions are expected to prevail tonight and through tomorrow
morning. Another round of afternoon and evening storms is expected
again tomorrow though, which could bring more periods of heavy rain,
gusty outflow winds, lightning, and periods of reduced visibility.
Otherwise, winds will remain relatively light, around and less than
10 knots, outside of thunderstorms, with mid to high level clouds
persisting to varying degrees through this TAF period.
KALS: VFR conditions are expected over the next 24 hours. Winds are
anticipated to remain relatively light, around and less than 10
knots, through this TAF period. Otherwise, mid to high level clouds
will increase tomorrow, with dry conditions expected. With that
said, impact from a shower or storm can not be ruled out tomorrow
afternoon, which could bring lightning and gusty outflow winds.
Confidence in this though is very low (less than 10%).

A few showers will linger across western Wyoming tonight into Sunday
morning, but should not impact any terminals. Outside of
thunderstorms conditions will remain VFR through the TAF period. The
strongest storms may drop conditions down to MVFR at times Sunday
afternoon. These showers and storms will not be as widespread as
moisture slowly decreases over the next few days.
Wind will generally be around 10 knots or less through the TAF
period. Some gusts near 20 knots will occur at KCPR and KRKS Sunday
afternoon. Outflow driven wind, with gusts up to 40 knots will be
possible with the strongest storms Sunday afternoon. Fog and low
clouds are possible at KJAC again Sunday morning thanks to more
rainfall this afternoon. Kept this threat as VCFG and SCT001 as
clouds may keep it from fully saturating across the whole valley
tonight/Sunday morning.

Showers and embedded thunder slowly weakening late this evening with
most of the activity finished by 09z. Low CIGS and fog will be the
primary concern between 06z and 12z Sunday before another round of
thunderstorms impacts the region Sunday afternoon.
HAZARDS/WEATHER TRENDS: Moderate confidence (25% to 50%) of low CIGS
and fog over the eastern plains terminals, including KCYS. Added
prevailing IFR conditions to most sites, but not certain how long
it`s going to last, or if conditions will fluctuate through the
night and into the early morning hours. Light winds and some
overnight convection might result in periods of low CIGS, but it may
not be persistent. Added prevailing IFR where there is more
confidence, and kept VCFG and/or MVFR conditions where confidence is
lower.
Another round of thunderstorms expected after 20z Sunday, but
coverage is expected to be much more isolated. Added PROB30 for TSRA
for KSNY, KCYS, and KCDR due to higher confidence. Gusty winds and
brief heavy rainfall will be the primary concerns.

Showers are forecast to move through both terminals starting at the
beginning of the TAF Period, and lasting a few hours. As showers
move over both terminals, brief movements of MVFR conditions may
occur, due to light to moderate rainfall dropping ceilings to around
2000-2500 ft. For KGLD Ceilings are forecast to drop to IFR
conditions for a brief period in the morning hours with ceilings
around 600 ft. Skies should clear later in the day with the winds
remaining below 10 kts and varying in direction.

Radar observations show a decaying thunderstorm complex approaching
HYS, with the trailing stratiform region bringing -SHRA to all other
terminals. A brief period of MVFR/IFR cigs and/or vis along with
strong winds are expected at HYS while the convective line segment
passes overhead, but no other flight category reductions are
expected this TAF cycle, and winds should otherwise remain light and
variable.

Present radar has continue to see the front boundary have a much
better push south than initial models have expect. This has
resulted in some vicinity thunderstorms around KAMA with both KDHT
and KGUY have much longer last storm impacts as well. These
impacts to the terminals are likely to continue through the next
couple of hours with storms looking to be rather quick to die off
now that the front is further south. Still look for broken to
scatter cloud bases to be present through sunrise for all of the
terminals albeit with VFR level in terms of CIGS. Otherwise,
another round of showers and thunderstorms remain possible
tomorrow afternoon and evening, with confidence now growing that
KAMA will likely see the first impacts in the mid to late
afternoon timeframe.

VFR conditions will continue to prevail through the TAF period. A
few storms linger across far eastern NM and this activity should
wrap up by 09Z. A backdoor front draped across the northeast
quarter of the state will continue pushing south and west through
the night, with only light winds in its wake.
Scattered showers and storms will develop along and east of the
Rio Grande Valley Saturday afternoon. Storm motions will be slow
towards the east, but erratic motions are likely at times. Outflow
winds through the gaps of the central mtn chain are likely to
impact KABQ and KSAF during the evening hours.
