Light SW-W winds have resumed after the brief surge from the east
overnight. These winds will trend more NW 14Z-15Z, and eventually
NE-E 16Z-20Z.
The main concern will shift toward likely occurrence of thunderstorms,
most favored 21Z-24Z and perhaps as early as 20Z at KBJC. The
threat of stronger storms is greater than yesterday so we`ll have
TEMPO G35-40kts, TSRA, and some visibility restriction to
5-6SM...although if a direct hit occurs visibility could go down
as low as 1SM given potential for heavy rain with storms. There`s
a PROB30 that -SHRA/TSRA could linger as late as 05Z. Outside of
that, look for mid level ceilings above 8,000 feet AGL and fairly
normal diurnal wind patterns. There`s a low (10-20%) chance of
stratus after 08Z tonight, depending on any easterly low level
flow in the wake of this evening`s convection.

VFR conditions are generally expected across KALS, KCOS, and KPUB
through 24 hours. Showers and thunderstorms are expected across the
region this afternoon, and as such have included PROB30s at all
terminals starting after 21Z. For KALS, activity will move down from
the mountains, while an incoming cold front will spark convection
near KCOS and KPUB later in the day. Outflow winds near
thunderstorms will reach 35-40 knots, with a few stronger storms
possible near KCOS. Winds over the plains will turn north-northeast
just behind the front. Mid-level cloudiness will persist through
most of this forecast period.

A line of storms is passing through northwestern Colorado this
morning. Minimal impacts are expected, though vicinity showers
and thunderstorms are possible at GJT and HDN. Near 18Z today,
look for storms to redevelop. Gusty outflow winds will be
generally be around 25 kts, but a few stronger gusts cannot be
ruled out. Most storms will remain anchored to the high terrain,
so higher elevation terminals are the most likely to exhibit
any impacts. Localized areas of MVFR vis may be possible under
stronger rainfall, but areal coverage of storms is too limited
to speculate if any terminals will experience this or not.

KSLC...VFR conditions prevail overall at the terminal through the
TAF period. Showers and thunderstorms developing along the high
terrain have a 30% chance to impact the terminal between roughly 19-
23z and again 04-09z. The main impact from showers and thunderstorms
through this period includes gusty and erratic outflow winds, with
gusts to 30 kts possible at times. Otherwise, southerly winds
prevail this morning, shifting northwesterly after roughly 19-20z.
REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions prevail for all
regional terminals through the period. Isolated to scattered showers
and thunderstorms are expected across northern and south-central
Utah as well as southwest Wyoming between 19z-09z, with potential to
produce gusty and erratic outflow winds with gusts upwards of 30-40
kts. Otherwise, winds remain generally light, following typical
diurnal patterns across the airspace.

Main morning forecast issue is fog at KJAC. Moisture got trapped
in the valley overnight, and has been meandering about, bringing
brief vis reductions. Once daytime heating starts in the next
couple hours, this cloud deck should lift and dissipate, with
quickly improving flight conditions.
Showers and thunderstorms will return again this afternoon, but
will be more isolated in nature. Most likely impacts will be at
southern sites (KRKS/KBPI/KPNA/KJAC), where moisture is most
available. As thunderstorms are expected to be isolated and
brief, will stay with PROB30 groupings for the day. Shower
activity will dissipate once daytime heating ceases, but
increasing moisture form the southeast will likely keep
midlevel cloud cover around the region through the night
tonight.

Monsoon moisture plume will remain over the area for at least the
next 48 hours. With less cloud cover today, there is a better chance
of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms, especially
further south near the I-80 corridor this afternoon and this
evening. Can`t rule out some patchy fog late tonight in areas that
receive heavy rainfall.
HAZARDS/WEATHER TRENDS: Primary Aviation concern is timing and
coverage of thunderstorm activity this afternoon. Winds will remain
relatively light out of the east or southeast with occasional gusts
of 20 knots. Thunderstorms will form near the Laramie Range,
impacting KLAR and KCYS after 20z. These thunderstorms will push
over the western Nebraska terminals after 22z and may linger through
the late evening hours. Gusty winds and very heavy rainfall are
possible which may result in brief MVFR to near IFR VIS.
Kept fog and low CIGS out of the TAF tonight due to low confidence
(5% to 10%) in rainfall amounts and coverage. The most likely
terminals to see some fog is KSNY and KCYS.

Patchy fog will be possible through mid-morning for portions of
the northern Sandhills, including KVTN terminal with MVFR
conditions possible. There will also be a chance of showers and
thunderstorms this afternoon and evening across western Nebraska
with the greatest chance of precipitation during the evening
hours. Winds will generally be out of the east around 5 to 10
kts through the day, becoming light and variable tonight.

Numerous showers and storms are ongoing currently around each
terminal. If a a shower/storm were to impact a terminal then a
brief period of gusty winds and MVFR conditions would occur.
After 09Z current thinking is that coverage should lessen some
which is the reasoning for the PROB30 for now. Should storms
continue they would last through sunrise Tuesday. Winds for the
day Tuesday are forecast to begin from the northwest before
shifting to the east through the day. Am watching for another
round of storms, potentially impact GLD towards the latter part
of the period. There is some question if a cluster of storms
will make it to the terminal, but current thinking is it will so
will maintain a PROB30 for now.

Mainly VFR conditions at all terminals for the next 24 hours. The
only exception will be if a thunderstorms impacts a terminal
which can lead to MVFR visibilities. The current ongoing rain
showers and thunderstorms may persist for the next several hours
before dissipating. Then further rain showers and thunderstorms
are expected later this afternoon and evening. This round of
storms will most likely impact the western panhandles including
KDHT and KGUY with a lesser chance for KAMA. Temperatures will be
very hot across the panhandles leading to increased density
altitudes at all terminals.

An outflow boundary has pushed southward across eastern NM and a
few showers and thundestorms have developed this morning along it
stretching from just south of KCQC to KTCC. Additionally, a few
storms persist across west central NM. All of these storms are
not expected to last much past sunrise. However, another round of
showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon with storms
focusing across the high terrain initially. Storms should roll
off the Sangre de Cristo Mountain to the southeast while storms
across western NM should shift slowly to the north or northwest.
Storms will be capable of very heavy rainfall, IFR or lower vsbys,
and gusty winds in excess of 40kt. Showers and thunderstorms
should continue past 06Z Wed before slowly diminishing.
