A low stratus deck is currently over KDEN and KAPA. Ceilings at
KBJC were MVFR to IFR overnight, but have since lifted. Ceilings
at KDEN will slowly lift over the next couple of hours, lifting
and scattering out between 14Z and 15Z. KAPA is currently
bouncing between a SCT006 and BKN006. It will continue to do this
for the next hour or two before the ceilings start to lift and
clear. We`re expecting another round of showers and thunderstorms
this afternoon and evening. The main window for thunderstorm
activity will be between 20Z and 24Z, with the potential for some
lingering showers and storms into the late evening. Winds today
will be variable in wind speed and direction, as outflows from
nearby convection cause rapid wind shifts. After the storms move
out of the area, winds will be light and variable or light from
the southwest.

The main concern today will be thunderstorms moving across the
TAF sites during the late afternoon and early evening time
period. Although brief periods of MVFR will be possible, main
concerns will be gust winds with the storms as they move
through. Otherwise, expect VFR with generally diurnal wind flow
prior to the convective activity. After the storms move through,
wind flow this evening into tonight will be from a northerly
component at KCOS and KPUB.

lingering light shower activity near the San Juan Mountains.
Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will begin

conditions if stronger thunderstorms move over TAF sites.
Otherwise, VFR conditions will prevail. Gusts up to 25 kts are
possible at a few sites this afternoon, especially where there

REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Another round of showers and

LIFR/IFR ceilings are still in place across portions of the
forecast area this morning, with a few terminals improving to
MVFR in the last hour or so. These conditions will continue
through 15Z, before returning to VFR as the low clouds lift and
scatter. Mountain top obscurations will also continue this
morning, with conditions improving as clouds lift through 20Z.
Showers and thunderstorms will return this afternoon, occurring
along and north of a KAFO to KRIW to KBYG line. Convection will
develop over the western mountains, moving eastward through the
afternoon and ending across the area by 03Z. Brief MVFR
conditions due to heavy rain will be possible. Conditions will
remain VFR through the rest of the TAF period. Wind gusts up to
25kt will occur at KCPR by 17Z, decreasing after 00Z. Winds will
generally stay light (11kt or less) elsewhere outside of any
possible outflow boundaries. Mountain obscurations will return
over the Bighorns after 06Z.

& KLAR also have a chance at seeing nearby storms, which could
bring locally strong wind gusts. Overall winds become westerly
today, but NE terminals may see shifting winds due to passing
boundary.

Low stratus and patchy fog will persist through late this
morning, with widespread MVFR/IFR CIGs and visibilities
continuing. Gradual improvement back to VFR is expected for all
terminals into this afternoon. Additional thunderstorms are
possible across western and southwest Nebraska tonight, though
confidence in impacts to KLBF remain too low for inclusion for
now.
Light and variable winds this morning become southeasterly this
afternoon, at 5 to 10kts.

For KGLD & KMCK... Rain and mist are forecast to start the
period, with visibility generally between 4 and 9 statue miles.
The rain should end roughly by 09Z for both sites, but low
ceilings around 800-1000ft may move in shortly after that. If
the low ceilings move in, they would likely persist though
13-15Z. Once any low ceilings break, VFR conditions should
persist through the remainder of the period with winds generally
below 10 kts. There is another chance for showers and storms
after 03Z Saturday. KGLD would likely see any precipitation
first, followed by KMCK closer to 06Z.

Northeasterly winds this morning at 10 knots will gradually
become more Southeast between 15z and 21z today as a surface
boundary lifts north across portions of southwest Kansas. This
surface boundary will be the focus for scattered afternoon
thunderstorms between 21z today and 02z Saturday. As these
storms develop and increase in coverage they may impact the
Garden City area between 02z and 06z. The best chance for
thunderstorms in the Hays area will be from 04z to 09z Saturday.
VFR conditions today will give way to ceilings in the 5000 to
10000ft AGL after 21z today as afternoon clouds/convection
develops.

Breezy winds and scattered storms are expected for portions of the
forecast area again this afternoon and evening, but VFR conditions
are forecast to prevail at all sites. Storms are most likely
across the north and western Panhandles, but will be very small
and short-lived in nature, leading to low confidence in including
mentions for any TAF site at this time. Any storm could produce
rogue wind gusts over 40 kts. We will once again be watching a
boundary to cause a wind shift towards the end of the period.

A batch of broken VFR cigs with embedded showers draped across
western and central NM is gradually moving off to the north this
morning. Brief MVFR visibility may occur with these scattered
showers, but vis restrictions are unlikely to last more than 30
min. Skies will gradually clear this afternoon, but broken cigs
will persist across much of western NM. Scattered showers and
storms will favor the southwest and northern high terrain today,
moving towards the northeast at 10 to 15 knots. There is a low
chance of storms at KFMN, KABQ, and KAEG this afternoon, but no
mention was made in the TAFs since probs are too low.
