VFR conditions expected to prevail through the TAF period. Winds
will continue to be light from the east/southeast for the next few
hours before turning to the south and then settling into drainage.
Clear skies and light winds should prevail overnight. Some of the
model guidance suggests the possibility for low cloud ceilings,
around 2-3000ft, in the early morning hours (06-12Z), though at this
time confidence is too low to include a low ceilings group in the
TAF. Tomorrow morning and early afternoon should look much like
today, with light winds from the east/southeast and mostly clear
skies. A few showers or thunderstorms are possible tomorrow
afternoon and evening, though currently we don`t expect there to be
enough instability over the area to support strong storms. As such,
we`ve kept the PROB30 for SHRA and will upgrade to a TEMPO should
there be more instability/surface moisture in tomorrow`s
observations.

and thunderstorms possible during the late afternoon. Lightning
and variable outflow winds near 30 kts may accompany
thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon.
KCOS...low stratus with CIGS near 2 kft will spread across the
terminal this evening and prevail into Tuesday morning. There
could be a few showers at the terminal around 06z/Tues for a
couple hours, with briefly reduced VIS and continued low CIGS. A
return to VFR conditions is forecast for Tuesday afternoon.
KPUB...low stratus is forecast to develop this evening and
prevail into Tuesday morning, with CIGS near 2 kft. A return to
VFR conditions is forecast for Tuesday afternoon. There could be
an isolated shower or thunderstorm by late Tuesday afternoon
with lightning and gusty outflow winds near 30 kts possible.

today and into the overnight period. Higher sustained speeds
may be possible at KGJT and KHDN during the overnight hours and
into the early morning and have been accounted for in the TAFs.
Clouds will increase in the morning from the south and bring
scattered to broken cloud cover to southwestern Colorado and
southeastern Utah. Shower and storm chances make a return
Tuesday afternoon, enhanced by southwesterly flow. Precipitation
chances are highest along and south of I-70. VFR conditions are
likely to prevail through the TAF period, but cannot completely
rule out a transition to MVFR due to decreased visibilities as a
result of shower activity.

KSLC...Light northwesterly winds transition to southeasterly after
04z. Moisture increasing from the south will yield increasing clouds
overnight with a 30% chance for showers to impact the terminal
between 06-12z, with minimal operational impacts outside of variable
winds. Additional shower activity is possible through the afternoon
before chances for thunderstorms increase after 20z. Storms tomorrow
afternoon will be capable of producing heavy rainfall and gusty and
erratic outflow winds in excess of 35 kts.
REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions prevail overall
for all regional terminals into Tuesday morning. Winds remain
generally light and diurnally driven across northern Utah into
Tuesday, while gusty southwesterly winds develop across southwest
Utah Tuesday afternoon. Shower activity currently ongoing across
southwest Utah will continue to spread northward through the evening
and overnight, with showers impacting most northern Utah and
southwest Wyoming terminals through Tuesday afternoon. Thunderstorms
are expected to develop mainly across the northeastern portion of
the airspace after roughly 20-21z, with potential to produce gusty
and erratic outflow winds in excess of 40 kts and heavy rainfall
that could drop VIS to MVFR/IFR at times.

VFR conditions prevail through the period. Winds follow diurnal
trends, decreasing this evening. Tonight, low clouds are possible
around KCPR between about 10z and 17z as a northerly wind advects
clouds to the area. Confidence is not high on this occurring, but
high enough to included a SCT group in the TAF. Confidence for fog
at KJAC remains very low, as the latest HRRR model sounding
indicates a dry surface.
For Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms start to move in from the
southwest towards the later half of the afternoon, with increasing
chances at KBPI, KPNA, and KRKS. Chances spread further northeast
past the end of the period.

Low clouds and areas of fog will be the primary aviation concern
tonight. Widespread flight category reductions are expected for
all terminals except RWL and LAR. For CYS and western Nebraska,
expect at least MVFR, with high confidence in periods of IFR
mainly between 08z and 15z at CYS, BFF, AIA, and SNY. LIFR is
also likely at AIA and SNY, and possible at CYS and BFF.
Confidence is a little lower in CDR reaching IFR conditions
tonight (40% chance). There is some uncertainty in the timing of
the initial flight category drop, and also whether CIGs will
stay down or occasionally waffle back to MVFR or VFR. Look for
gradual improvements Tuesday morning into the early afternoon from
west to east. A few showers or storms may move into RWL by the
end of the TAF period.

MVFR and local IFR conditions are expected tonight across all of
western and north central Nebraska. Some patchy fog is also
possible. Scattered showers are expected to develop across
western Nebraska Tuesday morning and then move eastward across
the area. MVFR ceilings are likely to linger across much of the
area through Tuesday. Winds will become southeast at 10-15 kts
by Tuesday afternoon.

Winds vary at this time from gentle to moderate northerly winds
at KGLD and light northwesterly at KMCK, likely to persist into
this evening, becoming light and/or variable overnight tonight.
Scattered VFR skies persist, with IFR ceilings developing late
tonight, possibly lowering to LIFR tomorrow morning when patchy
fog could briefly drop visibilities down to 4-5 SM within the
hours surrounding sunrise. Otherwise, moderate southeasterly
winds return by the afternoon, with gusts to 20-25+ knots.

Light, moist upslope flow may result in LIFR CIGS and
visibilities between 09 and 13z. Chances of visibilities 1/2
mile or less are 10% at all the TAF sites. Winds through the
period will remain 10 to 12 kts or less. With daytime heating,
any low stratus will burn off, leaving a gradually rising and
scattering of the cloud deck to MVFR and then VFR.

VFR prevails into this evening with increased broken cirrus from
west to east tonight. A frontal boundary currently stalled N-S
thru eastern NM with abundant moisture behind it will surge
westward thru the gaps of the central mountain chain near the
midnight hour and to the Continental Divide Tuesday morning.
IFR/MVFR ceilings are likely to break out along the east slopes of
the central mountain chain as well as across portions of eastern
NM. While light drizzle or rain is initially expected over eastern
NM, cannot entirely rule out a more robust shower or even isolated
thunderstorm there during the predawn period. East canyon winds
gusting 25-30kts are expected to reach KSAF and KABQ as well,
although northeasterly winds wrapping around the northern side of
the Sandia Mts into KAEG could cause erratic wind direction and
speed changes at KAEG and less likely at KABQ Tuesday morning.
Southeasterly winds are expected to become dominant at KABQ mid-
to-late morning and thereafter. Numerous to widespread showers
and thunderstorms are expected to break out over the central and
western high terrain early Tuesday afternoon, quickly filling into
surrounding lower elevations of central and western NM, as well as
expanding over eastern NM in the afternoon. Widespread shower with
embedded thunderstorms activity is expected to linger well beyond
the current TAF period Tuesday night and through Wednesday for
most areas.
