Current observations show winds are easterly across the area with a
few lingering gusts up to 20KT driven by diurnal heating. Winds will
continue to turn clockwise, becoming southeasterly by around 01-02Z
before drainage S/SSW winds take over in the late overnight hours.
There is a small chance that an outflow tracking over eastern
Nebraska could survive for long enough to make it to the CO plains
in the early morning hours (07Z-10Z). If the boundary makes it to
the Denver area, it would reinforce (10-15KT) the southerly
drainage winds already in place at that time.
For tomorrow, winds will start out SW and become more north to
northeast by the late morning. The biggest concern will be dry
microbursts and strong erratic outflow winds, up to 45KT. High-
based showers will start developing over the foothills at around
19Z, likely becoming scattered over the Denver metro by 22Z. No
precipitation is expected to reach the surface.

Thunderstorms are in the vicinity of KCOS and KPUB for a few
hours this evening if a storm forms over the site there will be
gusty and erratic winds - we have some PROB30 groups in the
TAFs. After that VFR conditions should be prevailing for all TAF
sites throughout the rest of the period. KALS has the best
chance for thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon around 00z, so it
isn`t in the TAF yet.

KSLC...The SLC terminal will see VFR conditions through the
overnight hours with some scattered clouds. Northwest winds are
expected to return to the south between 03Z and 05Z with tomorrow`s
shift to the north most likely occurring between 19Z and 21Z. With
increasing moisture, there is a 30 percent chance of the terminal
seeing a period of gusty and erratic thunderstorm winds, with the
most likely time during the late afternoon and early evening.
REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions will prevail
across the airspace through the overnight hours. Scattered showers
and thunderstorms have been focused over the higher terrain and will
continue into the early evening before dissipating. Any storms that
develop will have the potential to produce gusty and erratic winds,
lightning, and brief mountain obscurations. With moisture increasing
tomorrow, coverage of showers and thunderstorms will become a bit
more widespread tomorrow afternoon, with similar potential aviation
impacts as today. Away from thunderstorms, generally light and
terrain driven winds will prevail.

VFR flight conditions are anticipated through 00Z Saturday.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms across southwest Wyoming will
continue to spread east through 06Z. KRKS, KPNA, and KBPI have a 30
percent chance of a direct shower or thunderstorm through 04Z, at
the latest. There is a 10 to 15 percent chance of a stray shower or
thunderstorm at or in the area of KRIW, KLND, KCOD, and KCPR between
02Z and 06Z, but confidence is too low to include in TAF. Gusty
outflows up to 45 kts and lightning remain the primary hazards from
direct or nearby convection. Dry conditions with light winds are
expected through late Friday morning. On Friday afternoon, winds are
forecast to be 12 kts or less at all terminals. An occasional gust
around 20kts is possible at KCPR. Showers and thunderstorms are
forecast across much of the area between 20Z Friday and 00Z Saturday
at or in the area of KJAC, KRIW, KLND, KPNA, and KBPI.

Expecting VFR conditions to prevail across most of western and north
central Nebraska tonight and tomorrow. The main exception to this
will be the potential for isolated to scattered showers and
thunderstorms this evening and tomorrow afternoon. These will bring
the risk for gusty and erratic winds, as well as the potential for
brief, localized reductions in ceilings and visibility. However,
coverage is expected to be fairly scattered, with low confidence in
direct impacts to area terminals. Otherwise, expecting light and
mostly variable winds overnight into the morning hours, before
taking on a more southeasterly direction. While cloud cover may
build in overnight into the morning, expecting this to mostly remain
mid level, with little to no impacts to ceilings.

Scattered thunderstorms continue across the area as of 00z, with
isolated showers and thunderstorms to persist as late as 06z across
portions of west and east central NM. Outflow boundaries from
evening storms may produce isolated gusts at or above 35kts at
terminals through 03z, with lower gusts thereafter. The confidence
for outflow boundary impacts is higher than TS or SHRA impacts to
TAF sites this evening. Any direct TS or SHRA impact to terminals
may lead to brief MVFR to IFR visibilities. Mainly light winds
are expected overnight outside of brief gusty drainage winds near
mountainous terrain. Afternoon thunderstorms are expected again
near the end of the TAF period, mainly forming along the high
terrain of NM after 18z, with similar hazards likely (gusty winds,
brief MVFR/IFR visibilities).
