Dense fog was affecting APA and DIA early this morning and will
continue thru 14z before gradually lifting. Satellite shows
the wrn extent of this fog east of I-25 and it doesn`t look like
it will affect BJC.
By 15z a cold front will move across the area with gusty north
winds behind it. Gusts from 30-35 mph will occur from late morning
thru the afternoon with slightly lower speeds at BJC. In
addition, will see rain showers between 15z and 20z as well.
Ceilings will be down to 4500 ft with a period of lower ceilings
down to 2500 ft where heaiver rainfall occurs. Visbility will stay
mainly in the 3-5 mile range with the rain.
After 20z will see rain showers end from north to south with most
activity done by 23z. Ceilings will be in the 5000-6000 ft range
thru the evening hours. North winds will remain gusty at APA and
DIA through 04z with a slow decrease in speeds overnight.

Overall, VFR conditions are expected at all 3 taf sites next 24
hours. KALS may see on and off showers through the daylight
hours with gusty northwest winds developing later in the
afternoon.
KPUB and KCOS will see windy conditions develop by late morning
or early afternoon as a cool front pushes across the region.
Showers are expected to develop behind the front and last into
late afternoon. Breezy conditions will last into the evening
hours. I can`t rule a brief period of MVFR with the heavier
showers.

Scattered to widespread light showers continue across the
region with associated MVFR to IFR conditions. As colder air
moves into the region through the day, the showers will change
over to snow above 8000 ft. Look for shower to move east of the
divide after 00Z. Winds will be west to northwest at most TAF
sites with gusts 25-35 kts in the mountains through the
afternoon, calming to light drainage winds after 00Z. Mountain
TAF sites will continue to see conditions below ILS breakpoints
until the showers move out of the area.

.AVIATION...Monday 02/12Z through Tuesday 03/12Z...Just a few
isolated light showers remain this morning, but should completely
dissipate by mid-morning with drier conditions expected over the
next several days. CIGs under 3kft are expected to lift after 14Z
with partly cloudy skies expected through this afternoon. Areas of
gusty southwest to west winds this morning are expected to shift to
the northwest late this morning. Wind speeds will generally remain
around 10 knots or less, but KPGA and KINW may continue to see
northwest gusts to around 18 knots through the afternoon. Clear
skies and light winds overnight Monday.
OUTLOOK...Tuesday 03/12Z through Thursday 05/12Z...VFR continues.
Passing high clouds are expected Monday night into Tuesday morning
with light winds expected through the next morning and wind
directions being determined my more localized effects rather than
regional flow. Winds look to turn westerly Wednesday morning but
remain light to moderate, and then turn northerly later that day
with typical diurnal winds expected Wednesday night into Thursday.

remain below 7kft through 15-16z with mountain top obscurations.
Northerly winds will prevail before a shift to southerly drainage
winds occur around 02-03z.
REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...As showers wind down this
morning, expect to see improving conditions across the airspace, with
prevailing VFR returning after 13-15z at most sites. However, low
CIGS may continue to result in mountain top obscurations through at
least 16z. Some low-lying valleys may see fog develop tonight, with
greatest potential at KLGU. West to northwest winds will be in place
across most terminals today behind a cold front, with a return to
diurnal drainage winds this evening.

West of the Divide...KBPI/KJAC/KPNA/KRKS Terminals
Precipitation has ended across much of the area to start the
period, with marginal MVFR/VFR ceilings. KRKS is the one
exception with prevailing rain expected to return by 14Z.
Conditions will drop to LIFR/IFR with the rain through 18Z.
Winds with gusts up to 25kt at KBPI/PNA will occur through 00Z
breezy at times with speeds of 10 to 15 knots and occasional
gusts of 20 to 25 knots. A meso-low circulation will be located
near KRKS around 18Z, keeping winds variable and 5kt or less.
Mountains will be obscured through 00Z, with clouds scattering
out through the evening.
East of the Divide...KCOD/KCPR/KLND/KRIW/KWRL Terminals
IFR/MVFR conditions will be widespread across the area to start
the TAF period, along with mountain obscurations. LIFR
conditions will continue at KCOD through 17Z. Conditions will
drop to LIFR at times at KCPR and KLND through 18Z with periods
of rain this morning. are gradually diminishing across nearly
all terminals to start the TAF period. Precipitation coverage
will gradually shift to Natrona and Johnson counties through the
morning, becoming confined to these counties through the
afternoon. MVFR conditions will become more widespread after 18Z.
North to northwest winds, with gusts of 25 to 30kt, will be
widespread across the area through 00Z. Stronger gusts of 40 to
50kt will occur over the northern half of Johnson County. Winds
will begin to decrease after 00Z, with clouds beginning to
scatter out and becoming FEW-SCT FL050 after 06Z.

Complicated and low confidence aviation forecast for the current
TAF period with multiple hazards. A strong low pressure system
is developing just east of our this morning as a cold front
sweeps through. Scattered shower activity is moving through at
the same time. Leftover low CIGs and patchy fog are partially
breaking up with the frontal passage. All terminals will likely
fluctuate flight category this morning. MVFR to IFR should be
most common, but brief periods of LIFR and VFR are also
expected. In addition, northwest winds will increase rapidly
over the next few hours. Daytime winds will gust 35 to 45 knots
at most terminals, with some brief gusts approaching 50 knots
possible, especially this afternoon and evening.
Concerning shower activity, we will see the next round increase
around RWL, LAR and CDR this morning, with more intermittent
precipitation at CYS, BFF, AIA, and SNY. RWL and LAR may mix
with or changeover to snow this morning, producing periods of
IFR VIS. TAFs attempt to estimate the timing, but it should be
noted that confidence is low for the entire TAF period
concerning the timing of VIS/CIG drops. AMDs are probable.

A low pressure system tracks across the Sandhills this morning,
bringing rain across northern Nebraska. Stratus across southwest
Nebraska is beginning to erode, and should clear to VFR for a few
hours this morning. However, expect conditions will fall back to at
least MVFR across the region as stratus redevelops late this
morning. As the low slowly tracks across the region today, expect
winds to shift to northwesterly and become very gusty by the
afternoon. Peak gusts around 45 knots will be possible across the
Sandhills, but generally expect gusts at KLBF and KVTN to peak
around 40 knots. These strong winds will last through the night and
into the next TAF period as well. This evening, expect another round
of precipitation to track across north central Nebraska, which
should drop conditions back down to IFR, remaining so through the
end of this TAF period.

For KGLD & KMCK... VFR conditions are forecast to start the
period. However, an advancing front is forecast to bring low
ceilings around 1500-3000ft to the area along with winds from
the northwest at 20-25 knots with gusts up to 40 knots. There
could also be a brief period of fog with visibility down to a
mile or less around 13-14Z with fog ahead of the front. For now,
it is forecast to burn off before making it. Showers and storms
become possible after 18Z, though the better chances are
forecast to be just south of the terminals. Should a storm
develop, be alert for wind gusts around 50 knots. In the
absence of storms, winds should be at their strongest close to
00-06Z with gusts reaching 40-50 knots.

storms will develop along an advancing cold front, most focused

Very strong north winds will develop behind the front, advancing
on GCK airport first early this evening, followed by LBL and
DDC, then eventually HYS airport by mid evening. High wind gusts
of 50 knots or higher will be possible, particularly around
heavier showers. After a period of VFR flight category today,
IFR/MVFR ceiling due to lowering stratus is likely behind the
cold front this evening.

VFR conditions prevail early this morning across eastern NM, but a
mix of MVFR and VFR conditions plague central and western NM. Rain
and high elevation snow will continue along and behind a cold
front shifting southeastward across this area. Low clouds should
erode across western and central NM by mid afternoon, except
across the northern mtns. As the cold front shifts east of the
Central Mtn Chain, precipitation will largely diminish thanks to
downslope flow, but orographic lift may keep high elevation snow
showers across the northern mountains through the afternoon. Mtn
obscurations are also likely. Otherwise, expect winds to increase
behind the front from the west. Strongest gusts are expected
along and east of the central mtn chain where gusts between 40 and
50kt are likely. A backdoor cold front will plow southward across
northeast NM late in the afternoon, with gusty winds up to 40 kt
expected behind it as well. The backdoor front will continue to
slide southward through the evening.
