Most of the thunderstorms were pushing to the south and east, and
the threat of any severe storms is going rapidly with it. However,
there may still be a few showers or even an isolated storm around
this morning. Areas of stratus with MVFR/IFR ceilings are expected
to gradually lift through 18Z. That`s when things for storms get
interesting again. A shortwave will move across the area, likely
sparking another round of storms. Those could start as early as
19Z and then organize into a linear storm complex which would
potentially produce high winds and less extensive large hail as
they move east across the I-25 Corridor. We have beefed up the
winds for now to ~G40kts for a most likely scenario in a TEMPO
group, but a 10-20% of reaching severe thresholds (50 kts) at
KDEN. We think the main threat of storms would be pushing east of
the TAF sites by 22-23Z, but still a chance of a lingering
shower/isolated storm til 02Z Wednesday. Then gradual clearing and
lighter drainage winds developing beyond 02Z.

MVFR stratus will skirt to the east of KCOS this morning with
gusty northerly winds off the Palmer Divide expected to keep
them out of the terminal unless winds shift easterly sooner than
expected. Thunderstorms will develop over the mountains around
19z and could affect the KCOS and KPUB terminals as early as
20-21z with gusty outflow winds up to 40 to 50 kts and large
hail and heavy rain if they take a direct hit. This will last
through 00z to 01z before they move east of the terminals with
breezy winds dominated by thunderstorm outflows through 01-02z
before becoming light north to northeasterly overnight under
clearing skies.
KALS will see gusty southwest winds spread into the terminal by
17z with gusts up to 30 kts in the afternoon as winds gradually
shift around from the northwest to north. Winds will become
light into the early evening then shift around from the east
briefly between 05-08z and gust up to 20 kts as easterly winds
pour through La Veta Pass and into the TAF sites. Light
southeasterly winds will take over after 08-09z under clear

chances to all east of the Divide terminals. Thunderstorm
chances increase at KCOD beginning around 19Z followed by all
other east of the Divide terminals after 21Z. Thunderstorm
chances are reflected in a PROB30 group given the scattered
nature of convection and uncertainty in exact timing and direct
impacts. Any thunderstorms will be capable of producing gusty
outflows around 30 kts. An isolated stronger storm could produce
wind gusts up to 50 kts with large hail. A brief period of MVFR
visibilities cannot be ruled out with a heavier storm.
Thunderstorm chances diminish at all terminals by sunset.
Otherwise, winds increase at all terminals from the north or
northwest around 18Z. All west of the Divide terminals plus KRIW and
KWRL can expect gusts ranging from around 20-30kts. Winds decrease
around sunset at all terminals. There is potential for low clouds,
represented by a FEW020 group, at KCPR around sunset, however,
reduced flight conditions chances are low (20%) at this time.

winds and large hail. Heavy rain is also possible which will
cause reduced visibility at times. Most storms will move out of
the area by late this evening.

Periodic rain and thunderstorms, some of which may be strong to
severe, will hamper aviation operations through the next 24
hours.
Early this morning, expansive rain and thunderstorms stretch
from near KONL southwest through KLBF and into northeast
Colorado. Expectation is for this activity to gradually move
into the LBF terminal later this morning. This will likely clear
up around midday with a considerable break before the second
round which should impact VTN as well. For now, confidence in
this second round is limited but should it materialize severe
weather including strong wind gusts will be possible. Activity
should subside by early morning Wednesday with low stratus
possible in northerly flow.

For KGLD... VFR conditions are forecast through most of the
period, but storms will be possible through the day. The chances
through most of the day are less than 20%, so have opted to
keep them out of the TAFs for now. The main period of interest
remains a line of storms that are forecast to move in from the
west around 21-01Z. If this line develops and moves through, be
aware that gusts could exceed 60 kts and there could be near
zero visibility in blowing dust. The good news is that once the
storms pass, VFR conditions and clearing skies are forecast.
Winds should remain from the east in the absence of storms
during the day, then shift to out of the north this evening.
For KMCK... Showers and storms continue to linger near the
terminal. This is forecast to continue through much of the
morning hours, with a break possible after 18Z. That is until a
line of storms move through the area between 21-01Z. If the line
moves over the terminal, be advised that gusts could exceed 60
kts and there could be near zero visibility in blowing dust.
Once the line of storms pass, drier air should allow for
clear/VFR conditions. Winds will generally be from the east in
the absence of storms through the day, then shift to out of the
north this evening.

To start the TAF period, DDC, GCK, and HYS are experiencing low
ceilings bordering on lowered flight conditions. After the ceilings
raise, VFR will prevail until around 22z where a couple of lines of
storms are expected. Some uncertainty remains on where the storms
will pass through specifically, but there is high confidence in
storms overall. These storms may lower flight conditions with both
lowered visibilities and lowered ceilings. VFR conditions are
expected to return once the storms and lower cloud cover exists the
sites. Additionally during the period, winds are expected to shift
from southerly to from the north.

period. The one caveat will be the potential for thunderstorms,
mainly for KGUY after 00Z Wed. Confidence is low enough at this

added in subsequent TAF issuances if confidence increases.
Southerly winds will shift to the north for KDHT and KGUY ahead of
a push of cooler air behind a cold front. Northerly winds for the
entire combined OK/TX Panhandle are expected after 00Z Wed.

Calm VFR this morning, followed by increased westerlies by late
morning near 18Z all areas. LLWS is lessening this hour outside of
a few isolated pockets along the Continental Divide and central
mountain chain. Peak gusts this afternoon will be 25 to 35 kts
before winds taper off and calm again this evening b/w 00Z to
03Z. A cold front will bring a northerly to northeasterly wind
shift thru eastern NM tonight into Wednesday morning reaching
KROW near 06Z or just thereafter. A modest east canyon wind at
KABQ was also included. Any convection over northeastern NM could
enhance and change the timing of this frontal boundary advancing
thru eastern NM tonight.
