Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern New England
National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA
408 PM EDT Thu Jun 20 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Summer heat continues this afternoon with increasing thunderstorm
chances, especially across northern Massachusetts. A few of these
storms could be locally strong to severe. Highs this afternoon
are well into the 90s, cooler along the coast thanks to a
southwest sea breeze.

Unsettled conditions again on Friday with the greatest chance for
thunderstorms and heavy rain across the Connecticut River Valley.

Lowest relative humidities will be in the 40 to 50 percent range
for the rest of this afternoon and 55 to 70 percent on Friday.

.OUTLOOK...Friday through Tuesday...

Shower and thunderstorm chances continue each afternoon and early
evening Saturday and Sunday. Cold frontal passage Monday will
yield more widespread precipitation before another prolonged
stretch of dry and mild weather sets up next week.
