Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern New England
National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA
409 AM EDT Sat Sep 12 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Plenty of sunshine today with highs well into the 70s. Winds will
become southerly at 6 to 12 mph except for sea breezes along much
of the immediate coast. Minimum afternoon relative humidity
values will drop to between 35 and 45 percent...except 50 to
65 percent along much of the immediate coast.

.Outlook...Sunday through Thursday...

A warm front will bring showers and possibly a few embedded
thunderstorms with torrential rainfall on Sunday. Widespread
rainfall totals of 0.50" to 1.50" are expected...But narrow
localized bands of 2"-4" of rain are possible across portions of
Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts.

Any lingering scattered showers depart early Mon. Otherwise
dry/seasonable weather is on tap for Mon and Tue. However...a
brief bout of summer warmth and humidity is possible Wed and/or
Thu ahead of a cold front.
