140 FXUS64 KBRO 251726 AFDBRO Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Brownsville TX 1226 PM CDT Wed Jun 25 2025 ...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, AVIATION, MARINE... .SHORT TERM... (This Afternoon through Thursday night) Issued at 1225 PM CDT Wed Jun 25 2025 Similar to previous days, the combination of daytime heating and favorable moisture content will result in another afternoon with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. While severe weather is not expected, strong thunderstorms will be capable of producing gusty winds to 40 MPH and lightning. Any activity will be able to produce brief, locally heavy rain. Otherwise, activity should diminish with the loss of daytime heating. Patchy fog may develop once again tonight as winds become light and skies remain generally clear, but should clear out shortly after sunrise. High temperatures will remain near to slightly above normal in the low to mid 90s. In combination with the humidity, heat index values will range from 100-106 degrees each afternoon. && .LONG TERM... (Friday through next Wednesday) Issued at 1225 PM CDT Wed Jun 25 2025 Daily low to medium (20-50%) precipitation chances continue through early next week across Deep South Texas as the region remains within well established low level southerly to southeasterly flow. Through the end of the week, expecting each afternoon to remain in isolated coverage, but as moisture content looks to increase through the weekend coverage may become more scattered. Most activity will remain diurnally-driven, peaking during the afternoon hours and dissipating with the loss of daytime heating. Some locally heavy rainfall cannot be ruled out with any strong thunderstorms, in addition to gusty winds and lightning. Otherwise, expect near to slightly above normal temperatures region wide. && .AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1225 PM CDT Wed Jun 25 2025 VFR will prevail through the forecast period, although brief reductions in visibility during the early morning hours on Thursday cannot be ruled out as patchy fog develops across the area. Confidence is low at this time, but subsequent TAF issuances may warrant the need of prevailing MVFR/IFR visibility. Isolated to scattered convection may develop once again this afternoon, and at this time only opted to include VCTS at MFE. Otherwise, expect southeast winds around 10-15 knots will occasional higher gusts to prevail through this evening before falling below 5-10 knots tonight. && .MARINE... Issued at 1225 PM CDT Wed Jun 25 2025 Generally favorable marine conditions will prevail through the forecast period with low to moderate seas and light to moderate southeast winds. Occasional gusts upwards cannot be ruled out during the afternoon hours due to a locally enhanced pressure gradient. Otherwise, daily chances for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue through the weekend. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
