...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH
SATURDAY AFTERNOON...
.DISCUSSION...Southerly winds will prevail through the morning
hours before shifting to the southwest and west as a dry line
advances east. This will result in a very warm afternoon with a
high temperature around 100 degrees and afternoon relative
humidity values around 10-20 percent. Wind speeds will be below 15
MPH this afternoon, although occasional higher gusts cannot be
ruled out. The dry line retreats west later this evening and winds
will shift back to the southeast overnight, allowing for relative
humidity to recover to around 70-80 percent. A dry cold front
will arrive Saturday morning, ushering in a very dry air mass. A
Fire Weather Watch is currently in effect from 9 AM to 6 PM on
Saturday, and will likely be upgraded to a Red Flag Warning due
to the combination of cured fuels, afternoon relative humidity
between 10-20 percent, and 20-foot winds near or upwards of 15
MPH.
