...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of northwest Vermont, including the following
  county, Chittenden.

* WHEN...Until 415 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
  Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be
  passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 307 PM EDT, At 1149 AM, local law enforcement reported
    flooding on Pettingill Rd near Browns River Rd. Flooding is
    already occurring. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    SLOPE: 13 - Alder Brook headwaters., SLOPE: 11 - Browns River
    along Route 128 to Pettingill Rd., SLOPE: 16 - Abbey Brook,
    along Osgood Hill Rd., SLOPE: 22 - Inflow to Browns River,
    crosses Weed Rd between Jericho/Essex Ctr., SLOPE: 11 -
    Browns River along Rte 128 from Pettingill Rd to Westford.,
    SLOPE: 15 - Rogers Brook through Brookside in Westford, along
    Brookside Rd., SLOPE: 8 - Morgan Brook, flows into Browns
    River at Westford. and SLOPE: 10 - Browns River, crosses Rte
    15 between Essex Center and Jericho.

    Westford and Essex.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
