...Warming Temperatures and Dry through Saturday...
.DISCUSSION...
High pressure will keep conditions at least through early Sunday
with temperatures warming through Saturday afternoon. RH will be
trending higher from today`s low in the 35-45% range to the 40-50%
range for Saturday. The biggest question continues to be the
timing of the next system expected to impact the region late
Sunday into Monday. Latest models are slowing the onset of winds
and precipitation from previous runs keeping this system and its
impacts a moving target. It will be possible that the leading
edge of precipitation may be slower that current projections
since it will be moving into a dry air mass. So, currently best
estimations are for slightly drier RH, 35-55%, and winds gusting
to around 20 mph for southern Vermont valleys with speeds 25-35
mph on ridge tops and upper slopes. This will represent a more
marginal threat for fire weather concerns when compared to
previous forecasts. Still looking at wetting rains for
central/southern Vermont Sunday night into Monday at this time,
but model precipitation amounts are trending lower at this time.
