942 FNUS51 KBTV 021732 FWFBTV Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Northern Vermont and Northern New York National Weather Service Burlington VT 132 PM EDT Tue Sep 2 2025 ...Dry through Wednesday, Gusty Winds and Wetting Rain Late Week... .DISCUSSION... Surface high pressure will keep cooler and drier air in place through Wednesday as a deepening trough approaches by late week. Minimum relative humidity values will bottom out in the 30-40% range tomorrow for most areas, with potentially near critical values in the wider valleys, but with excellent recovery in the overnight periods. Winds through mid-week will remain on the calm side with variable flow limiting fire concerns through Wednesday. A few isolated showers, an isolated rumble of thunder, potentially a rare dry thunderstorm as these showers carry little precipitable water, are possible across the Adirondacks and northern Greens today and tomorrow afternoon. By Thursday, the potential for wetting rain increases late in the day as a cold front moves into the area. Gusty winds associated with the front could reach towards 30-35 mph at times in the Adirondacks and northern Greens, which could lead to some fire weather concerns prior to the arrival of the front.
