.DISCUSSION...
Outside parts of the St. Lawrence Valley along Route 11, almost
everyone received 0.67-1.75" of rain. From about Camels Hump
south, areas along and west received as much as 2-2.5". The rain
is much appreciated. Steady north winds at 7 to 15 mph with gusts
of 20 to 25 mph will prevail much of the day. Relative humidity
values have crept down to the mid 40 to 55 percent range.
Additional scattered showers are expected, which will help
minimize fire weather concerns.
The remainder of the period will shift back towards very dry
conditions. On Thursday, cool high temperatures of less than 55 F
will keep relative humidity values from falling too far. Minimum
relative humidity values will range between 30 and 40 percent.
There will remain abundant sunshine and another breezy day of 7 to
15 mph winds. The strength of gusts will likely not be as great,
with mostly 20 mph gusts. Friday will be the driest day with
relative humidity falling to 23 to 33 percent. The Champlain and
St. Lawrence Valley will switch to a south wind at 7 to 15 mph
with gusts approaching 20 again. So by Friday afternoon, these
conditions could pose fire weather concerns.
