.DISCUSSION...
A shortwave will bring fairly localized shower activity through
the remainder of the day to central Vermont. Wetting rainfall is
unlikely, but if a shower does manage to pass over the burn area,
a few hundreths of an inch of precipitation is possible. Current
observations in Northfield show high relative humidity values
around 80% with a possible approaching shower over the spine of
the Greens right now. Temperatures will remain slightly below
average in the upper 60s throughout the day with relative humidity
values 60% or higher. Winds today will be northwesterly 5 to 10
mph with light shifting winds to the south overnight. Better
chances for wetting rainfall will be late Thursday night into
Friday as a cold front passes through. Ahead of the front Thursday
afternoon, breezy southerly winds with gusts up to 15 mph are
possible, but will quickly subside with the onset of
precipitation. Expected precipitation through Friday afternoon is
around two-tenths of an inch.
