...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 AM EDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of western New York, including the following
  county, Allegany.

* WHEN...Until 1230 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Levels on
  the Genesee River have risen rapidly in response to the rain, but
  the river will not reach flood stage. However, it will take
  several hours for all the water to work through its tributaries.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1036 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flooding and
    road closures across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 4
    inches of rain have fallen.
  - Little if any additional rainfall is expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Wellsville, Whitesville, Scio, Andover, Stannards, Knight
    Creek and Paynesville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
