...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations 1 to 3 feet.
  Winds gusting as high as 65 mph Monday decreasing to around 45 mph
  Tuesday creating blowing and drifting snow and whiteout conditions.

* WHERE...Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie
  Counties.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions with snow and blowing snow are
  expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially
  life-threatening through Tuesday. Travel will remain very
  difficult with hazardous conditions from lake effect snow
  continuing to impact travel through the week.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake effect snow is expected oscillate
  several times downwind of Lake Erie this week. Forecast snowfall
  amounts could be much higher where lake bands persist during this
  long duration event.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just
a few miles away. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,

TO 7 AM EST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations 1 to 2 feet.
  Winds gusting as high as 60 mph Monday decreasing to 50 mph
  Tuesday creating blowing and drifting snow along with whiteout
  conditions at times.

* WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. Greatest snow
  accumulation expected south of Watertown and Fort Drum.

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected starting late Monday
  afternoon continuing into Tuesday and will make travel treacherous
  and potentially life-threatening. Travel will remain very
  difficult with hazardous conditions from lake effect snow
  continuing to impact travel through the week.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake effect snow is expected oscillate
  several times downwind of Lake Ontario this week. Forecast
  snowfall amounts could be much higher where lake bands persist

  Winds gusting as high as 55 mph Monday into Tuesday creating
  blowing and drifting snow and whiteout conditions.

* WHERE...Wayne and Northern Cayuga Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected making travel very
  difficult at times Monday night into Tuesday. The hazardous
  conditions from lake effect snow will continue to impact travel
  through the week.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heaviest snowfall and strongest winds
  expected tonight through Tuesday evening with lingering lake snows
  continuing through mid-week.

* WHERE...Northern Erie and Genesee Counties.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Periods of whiteout conditions Monday afternoon and
  evening with strong winds and blowing snow significantly reduce
  visibility and making travel difficult through the evening commute.

  significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will
  impact the evening commute tonight and the Tuesday morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited
visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
  will impact the Monday evening and Tuesday morning commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Forecast snowfall amounts could be higher
  where lake bands persist during this long duration event.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling,
be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.
