Rest of Today through Friday...

A warm and dry weather pattern is advertised for the northern
Rockies through the weekend and most likely through the work week
ahead. A zonal to slight ridging pattern will be over the area
for the next 7 to 8 days. The main storm track/jet stream will
settle well to the north of the area, but will be close enough to
push a few weak and dry cold fronts through the area. Ahead of the
fronts temperatures will be 15 to 20 degrees above normal (mid
60s), while post frontal temperatures will still be above normal.

After highs in the 75-85 degree range today, a dry cold front
tonight will bring northerly winds and temperatures near 70 for
Saturday afternoon. Temperatures warm Sunday into the mid 70s.
Monday looks very warm with highs well into the 80s, with
20-40% chance for a 90 degree reading or two east of Billings.
Could be close to daily high temperature records for a few
locations Monday afternoon. Temperatures drop into the upper
70s/lower 80s behind another dry cold front for Tuesday through
Friday.

Given the warm temperatures over the coming week, expect strong
afternoon mixing to produce breezy to locally windy conditions at
times during the warmest part of each afternoon.

The combination of warm, dry, and breezy conditions will bring
periods of elevated fire weather conditions through next week.
Will need to use extra caution to prevent grass fires until
a cooler and wetter weather pattern develops. Chambers

00Z Update...

A dry cold front is expected to move through during the late
evening and overnight hours tonight. There is a small chance for
showers and an isolated thunderstorm between 06 and 12Z near
KBHK. Main concern will be gusty winds 25-35kts. Breezy NW wind
gusts 20-30 kts are expected across SE MT through the day
following the front. TS
