The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Sheridan County in north central Wyoming...

* Until 245 AM MDT.

* At 846 PM MDT, Public reports flash flooding on the Little Tongue
  River in Little Tongue Canyon about 7 miles southwest of Dayton.
  There are also reports of a possible mudslide near Steamboat Point
  Along US-14.  Other areas southwest of Dayton over the Elk Burn
  Scar may experience debris flow and flash flooding. Between 0.5
  and 0.8 inches of rain have fallen in an hours time. Additional
  rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned
  area overnight into Wednesday morning.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding and mudslides caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Public reported with radar collaboration.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...areas
  along the Little Tongue River.  This includes people along the
  Little Tongue River near Dayton.

People in the Dayton area near the Little Tongue should remain alert
and be prepared to move to higher ground if necessary.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
