The National Weather Service in Columbia has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Lexington County in central South Carolina...
  Central Richland County in central South Carolina...

* Until 200 AM EDT.

* At 1213 AM EDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms
  producing heavy rain across the warned area leading to flooded
  roadways and disabled vehicles. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Columbia, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, McEntire Air Base,
  Dentsville, St. Andrews, Pine Ridge, Arcadia Lakes, Eastover,
  Horrel Hill, Fort Jackson, Hopkins, Woodfield, Five Points, SC
  State Fair Grounds, West Columbia Riverwalk, Riverbanks Zoo, SC
  State Farmer`s Market and Fort Jackson Wildcat Road.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 126 between mile markers 1 and 3.
Interstate 26 between mile markers 115 and 120.
Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 65 and 70...and
near mile marker 72...and
between mile markers 74 and 76.
Interstate 77 between mile markers 0 and 16.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive through flooded roads.
