Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
239 PM EDT Tue Jun 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Offshore high pressure will remain in control of our weather on
Wednesday resulting in another hot and humid summer day. Latest
guidance suggests that the threat of rain is low, less than 20
percent, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms most likely
towards the Upstate and also along the coastal leaving much of the
Midlands and CSRA dry. A cold front will approach on Thursday with
increasing rain chances late Thursday into Thursday night. The
boundary is expected to stall across the region, keeping rain
chances in the forecast each day from Friday into the weekend.

Fog Potential Tonight: Fog is not expected.
