Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
253 PM EDT Wed Jun 19 2024

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure and upper level ridging will remain in control of
the region for the next several days. Moisture will begin
returning to the region Thursday with scattered showers expected
Friday through the weekend. Expect showers and thunderstorms to
first favor the southeastern portion of the area through Saturday
then expand to cover all of the Midlands and CSRA Sunday.
Additional moisture will move into the area early next week
leading to increasing coverage of showers and thunderstorms
through the middle of next week. Winds will continue to be out of
the east through Friday, gusty at times during the afternoon
hours of peak heating.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog is possible mainly near
area lakes and rivers.
