Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
443 AM EDT Mon Sep 23 2024

.DISCUSSION...
High pressure will continue to reside over the area today
but increasing moisture and some weak upper energy will
bring isolated to scattered convection to the region
this afternoon and evening. Generally light transport winds
expected today under 10 knots and min RH values around 40
to 50 percent. Continued low chances of rain Tuesday
and Wednesday as an upper trough sets up to our west and
moist southwesterly flow supports mainly diurnal showers
and thunderstorms. Uncertainty in the forecast increases
by the end of the week as a potential tropical system
pushes into the Gulf of Mexico.

Tonight: Patchy fog is unlikely outside of fog prone locations.
