Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
156 AM EDT Sat Aug 30 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Scattered showers are forecast to develop today across the
southern Midlands and CSRA. As we get into Sunday and Monday, high
pressure increases its strength, with drier and cooler than
normal air overspreading the forecast area. Breezy, northeasterly
winds are forecast to be common with afternoon gusts around 20 mph
possible. By midweek, clouds return and chances of light rain
increase again but precipitation looks light at this time.

Fog potential tonight: Low, but patchy fog is possible toward
daybreak mainly near rivers and lakes.
