Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
149 PM EDT Thu Jun 20 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Hot, typical summer pattern continues with moisture steadily
increasing each day into early next week. Rain chances start to
increase Friday, mainly south of I-20 with winds remaining out
of the east-southeast. Gusts up to 20 mph are likely throughout
the warmest hours in the afternoon. Winds will turn southerly
for Saturday and rain chances become more widespread across the
SC and eastern GA. A front will push towards the area Tuesday
into Wednesday and will keep rain chances elevated, but a major
wind shift or drier airmass from the front are not expected.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog is possible mainly near
area lakes and rivers.
