Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
410 AM EDT Mon Jun 24 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Hot conditions continue across the region. Low-level
moisture will remain high across the area today. A weak
front/trough will move through the area today and become
stationary near the coastal plain. A few isolated
showers are expected this morning associated with the trough,
then widely scattered/ scattered showers and thunderstorms
mainly in the eastern Midlands this afternoon. The airmass will
begin to dry out a bit mainly in the northern Midlands Tuesday
behind the boundary. The winds will shift to light northeast to
east Tuesday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will focus
in the southeast Midlands near the boundary Tuesday afternoon.

Scattered convection possible late week as another front moves
into the area. However, the air mass will remain quite warm and
moist with above normal temperatures through the period.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog possible.
