Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
149 AM EDT Sun Aug 31 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Beautiful weather returns today as dry air filters in. High
pressure is forecast to strengthen across the forecast area over
the next couple of days, with dry air and cooler than normal temps
common. Min RH values are expected to be in the 35-45% range each
afternoon through Tuesday. Winds today and Monday are forecast to
be breezy, with northeasterly winds gusting to around 20 mph at
times. Our only chance of rain this week looks to be
Wednesday/Thursday.

Fog potential tonight: Low, but patchy fog is possible toward
daybreak mainly near rivers and lakes.
