Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
121 PM EDT Wed Sep 3 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Dry and mostly clear conditions are expected overnight tonight as
weak high pressure hangs on in the region, leading to light winds
as well. On Thursday a weak front approaches the mountains and upstate,
aiding in turning winds out of the southwest at 5-10 mph. In general,
it appears this front may become very diffuse before reaching the area
and thus mostly dry conditions are expected, though a shower or weak
storm reaching the northern Midlands cannot be fully ruled out during
the afternoon. Friday and Saturday see winds that continue out of the
southwest to south-southwest, but with warm and dry conditions expected. A
stronger front then should move through the area Sunday, bringing
increased chances for showers and storms, which may continue
into the early week.

Fog potential tonight: Patchy fog along bodies of water could be possible.
