Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
200 AM EDT Mon Jul 14 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Hot and humid conditions are expected today with showers and
thunderstorms possible this afternoon, a few of which may become
strong to marginally severe producing damaging winds, small, hail,
and heavy rainfall. Lower temperatures and higher rain chances
are then expected during the mid-week period as weak upper ridging
breaks down. A new ridge builds in from the east to close out the
week resulting in a warming trend and lower rain chances, though
high moisture should keep the threat of diurnally driven showers
and thunderstorms in the forecast each day.

Fog Potential: Patchy and focused near bodies of water.
